Tomorrow. . It will be interesting to see what bench she is sitting behind. I hope the rumors we heard yesterday are true. What a great addition she would be to this team.

I don't like that. Makes it sound like she is still up in the air between the 2 programs.

I can't imagine a better way to make a decision than visiting the other finalist for her verbal and seeing her two finalists play head to head.

All UConn fans at the game should be wearing a maple leaf on their person.

Agreed and also to see the future of the two programs. Aside from Bria and Stef, Kia would be playing with KML/Kiah/Brianna for a year, Tuck/Jefferson/Stewart for 2 years and Chong for 3. PSU loses Lucas, their best player, along with East, Taylor and Edwards. Lucas is averaging 28 PPG, Edwards 20 PPG and Taylor 13. Clearly the overwhelming majority of their scoring and offense will be gone. She can look at it as a great opportunity to be an instant leader on the team, or an opportunity to play for a team already loaded with talent, restocking, and ready to make many more NC runs.

Looking at it from her perspective, I have a hard time imagining she's choose PSU - does PSU even have a verbal from 2014? There are hardly any top kids left on the board and I'm not even sure they are on the radar of any of them. I think PSU is heading for some serious down years in the next 2-3 seasons. Ice - you know them better - am I missing something here?

If this is her official visit to PSU she will be behind the PSU bench. That's just how it is. Just like official visits at UCONN.

I thought she cancelled an official to Kentucky this weekend. It will be interesting
to see where she does sit. Maybe she has already given a quiet verbal and just
wants to announce it officially on Monday or Tuesday. It will also give her
a chance to thank the coaches of the losing team for their interest in her.
I checked Prospects Nation and don't see any Penn St. commitments for 2014.
Who knows????

Thanks, Cat, then she is likely to sit anywhere. If she sits behind the UCONN bench I would say it is a done deal.

I'm even more impressed with her thought process.
Attending the game at her own expense to make her final decision.

I guess it depends on how she gets her tickets. Can the visiting team give tickets to a recruit ? probably not, so she will probably be sitting behind the PSU bench.

Lets look at this situation this way. She visits Uconn last weekend and has
a great visit. She goes home and a couple days later she cancels her visit
to Kentucky. She can come to Uconn and can be part of a great recruiting
class and compete for National Championships and play for the US
Olympic coach or she can go to Penn St. and be the only recruit for
2014. I am sure she has developed a nice relationship with the Penn
St coaches and wants to show them some love and respect. I would
imagine that her Canadian Olympic coach would like her learning from
Geno and bringing home some of the inner workings of how he
teaches and develops talent. I don't know but it makes sense to me.

I agree. It'll be interesting to hear her decision. She knows UConn is the best program with the best coach and she'll be surrounded by top-notch talent. With that, however, comes more competition for playing time. Penn State is a good school, a couple hours closer to home (5-hr drive vs 7-hr drive to Storrs), Washington is a good coach and she'll probably start as a freshman. Penn State loses its 3 top scorers to graduation after this season and has not signed any 2014 recruits. It's 2013 class was ranked #18 by PN, with Alexandra Harris and Peyton Whitted its highest ranked recruits.

Maybe a visiting team can give a recruit tickets if they have already
privately committed verbally or privately signed a LOI awaiting her public announcement which is planned for Monday or Tuesday.
We still have not heard a word from Geno on the other 3 recruits due
to NCAA regs.

I still don't undertand this... I've been reading quite a few comments by other coaches on their signings.

He has had a fairly busy week dealing with injuries and getting the team ready for the weekend. I suspect we get those statements next week when he is back in Storrs.

On the tickets thing - don't think the schools can give the tickets, but they can make specific seats available for purchase as long as they are not discounted from normal prices. So... I am not going to read anything into where she sits tomorrow.

I believe I read somewhere that the LOI's have to go through compliance first before Geno can speak about the players.

I read that too DD but why wouldn't the same process apply to everyone? Is their compliance approach better (or faster) than Uconn's?

No idea. But with what happened with the men's team over the last couple of years, I wouldn't doubt they have a process tougher than some other schools.
