Kia 3pt Improvement Translates

I don’t normally post about women’s basketball, but something really impressed me and it can be applied to UConn MBB. Kia Nurse came to UConn not a very good three point shooter but I see she is 20 for 33 or almost 61% this season. This is an excellent example that if someone works hard some people can significantly improve their shooting.
I hope a few of the men’s players are reading my post and draw inspiration from Kia.

Has anyone disputed the idea that you get better at things by practicing them?

Incidentally, she was a 40% three point shooter as a freshman so this isn't Terrence Samuel we're talking about here.

Kia is currently on a streak with threes and has made 11 of 12 in her last two games. Before that she was 9-21, 42.9%, which isn't too far off her career average at the end of her junior year of 41.7% and down from her 46.7% average last year.

I can tell you not everyone gets that or follows through on it.

Jackson and Vital each made about 50 shots last season - Kia has made 20 - so that’s 40% of the made shots. It has some meaning. I don’t think we have had a guy who has had a 60% stretch for 3 ball percentage since Giffey during part of 2014 and that was pretty special.
