Maybe he just doesn't like playing basketball. No more minutes this year, sit out a year (does he sit out the full year?), get buried on the bench next to some other 5 stars who aren't one and done.

I read recently that Kentucky doesn't have any available scholarships this season. One player transferred before the season started but once you renew the scholarship in June it's taken up for the rest of the year even if it's not being used. So Birch would have to pay his own way 2nd semester this year before going on scholarship next year.

I know he was a McD's All American and all... but I saw this kid play last year and he's not very good.

Obviously there's some potential there, and maybe he becomes a very good player, but I think his ceiling is limited.

Also, maybe he didn't want to play in a conference that has 4 good teams and a bunch of D2 schools

CBS reporting friday that he is on his way home to Toronto and he is officially done at Pitt. He hasn't said where he is headed next year.

The Pitt board is hillarious. There are two threads - one that he goes to WVU which is unlikely as he would have to sit two years (unless WVU can get out of the BE fast enough and then he wouldn't) and the second that he is going to Kentucky. They think the NCAA should take scholorships away from UK if that happens and that the NCAA should immediately investigage Calipari if he commits there. Funny stuff.
