They should have moved the campus to the banks of the CT river. But that's getting way off topic

You get the point how you're never really far from civilization in the Northeast, right? The idea that Storrs is in the middle of nowhere is one of the stranger things and is usually said by people who really only know the Northeast.

If you told someone from Indiana that the Storrs area was farm country and they actually saw it they would laugh.
3.5 hours Bloomington to Chicago

Next someone is going to tell you UConn engineering is elite compared to the rest of the country.
Elite? Not so much, but certainly not horrible.

I knew someone would do it. I suppose I'm not shocked it was you.
I am aim to please. Someone needs to give some balance to our resident Eeyore. Congrats on stepping into that role in the post Whaler/Jimmy era.

Says the guy who said Uconn "isn't that bad" at engineering tied for 75th in the country. I'm didn't step into any role, don't name call to change the subject.

So uh, do you think that UConn "is bad" at being ranked the 75th doctoral level engineering program in the country? I'm not sure about the point you are trying to make.

Lately you've been pretty negative. It is what it is.

Are you though? In Storrs, you have the university ag dept so there are fields and cattle, but once you leave Storrs, not so much. Corn fields? Not so much.

Storrs UConn

C'mon. Drive along 44 and there are all sorts of road side corn stands. And BTW, that fresh grown and picked corn is fantastic.

Sure, they're not "Bloomington, Indiana Sized" cornfields, but there are plenty around the Storrs area.
