Kentucky Not Ranked

Can you Imagine coach Ollie with all these All Americans and talent at UCONN with the same record? The sky would be falling.

Nice try but, NO! The problem at Kentucky is fixable in one or two years as in, they could easily win it all in a year or two. They are in WAY better shape than we are right now. Should the fans be questioning the squid? Yeah! The guymakes over 7 million a year! So, for value, they are getting screwed too. But in terms of overall situation, they are much better off. People here would be grumbling but no one would be screaming for the guy's head. KO is done...stick a fork in him. If he had any conscience or soul, he would strike a deal with the school that would allow both to move on.

Even if it meant giving up a few more nattys, there's no way I want that slimebag repping my alma mater, as if he'd want the UCONN job. He'd only be interested in it if he suffers a Pitino-esque fall off the cliff.

I wish we had Kentucky's problems....They'll make the NCAA tournament, make Elite 8 or Sweet 16 at a minimum, and send multiple players to the NBA as first round picks. We, on the other hand.......

Williams has actually taken a lot of criticism lately from their fanbase over his inability to land top 10 talents, and his failure to produce top pros. This team's best player – Maye – was a fringe top 200 player out of high school, and actually walked on.

Kentucky falling out of the top 25 for the first time in four years is now equal to Connecticut making the NCAA tournament one time in four seasons with back to back losing seasons???

Just give us the 2 players that's on Kentucky we should have had in Gabriel and Diallo and a healthy Gilbert and we may have been final four bound. This would have solved a lot of problems including recruiting.

And then there is poor bill Self the c grade of this group. Gets 5*s into the second round as a 1 or 2 seed and b12 champs and nothing else to show. How are the KU guys fairing in the league these days on a performance level on a whole?

I think you are misconstruing my point like most of Ollie haters. Give Ollie the same quality of talent that Coach Cal has and see how bad of a coach he is then. Give him the bells and whistles ala private jet he uses for recruiting while you're at it and the 5* so call dorm rooms they have for their players. Tell me what you think now.

And that, to me, speaks to a great program and a great coach.
Not signing 3 of the top 8 players, then bragging about getting 4 lottery picks in one year while also making excuses in the Final Four that your team is too young.
I'm also just very biased against Calipari far more than any coach in college basketball. Especially ever since he told a recruiting story on Colin Cowherd about how he missed out on "some kid-I can't remember his name-but he ended up beating us in the Final Four". That kid was Kemba Walker. Don't act like you forgot his name, you slimy car salesman dink.

Great recruiter. Average coach. Greasy used car salesman dink. Doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Coach K, Roy Williams, Calhoun. Or even Pitino.

He would do as bad or worse. He would pick the wrong 5 star guys most of the time while the squid picks the wrong ones some of the time. And I am not convinced KO is even as good as the mediocre squid at actual coaching.

Give Hurley squid's situation and he would do better.

Didn't Ollie outclass and out coached him in 2014. Didn't Calipari had like 12 All Americans on that team?

First of all coaching involves recruiting. When you say “give him the bells” give him all those players you’re assuming that’s somehow for free. Something that was not earned. I have news for you, recruiting is a special talent. And Calipari knows how to recruit, he did it not just at Kentucky but he did it at UMass so let’s not minimize. Nothing is for free and that man earned it. Kevin Ollie on other hand is not suffering from some unfair advantage. He was provided every tool to succeed and unlike people like Calipari or Calhoun he did not have to build from the ground up

Next, nobody “hates” Kevin Ollie. Just because people want him fired does not equal hatred, you need to understand there’s a difference. He is a top paid Connecticut state employee making $3.1 million a year. He’s being paid a lot of money (among top 10 in College Basketball) to deliver results and he’s not delivering results. When that happens yes, people are going to call for him to be fired, myself included. That does not mean we hate him. Please understand the difference. I assume here young person, but try to think first before posting.

That's mot exactly going out on a limb there though. In the next 15 years, there'll be probably only 12 coaches out of hundreds who will win a NC. And most of those guys are already entrenched at their respective institutions.

Ollie will have more success at his next destination than his replacement at UCONN. Bet on that.

I don't think you'll ever see Ollie coach in college again. Perhaps as an assistant, but I highly doubt that.

Such a drama queen. I didn't. But I can say this, if Ollie was our coach in 1985, you would have said the same stuff about 1985 Calhoun as you are saying about 2018 Hurley. If you deny that you are either delusional or dishonest or both. Could Hurley repeat what Calhoun did? Probably not but who knows for sure? You certainly don't. I repeat. You don't.
