They need some transfers in or they will be in trouble.

They lose Slater and Daniels right, or do they have 6th years? If Whitmore and Moore leave that’s a problem.

Whitmore is gone. No way he’s coming back and Nova has known that most of the year

Whitmore is gone. Slater and Daniels both used their Covid year this year so are in the Calcaterra boat of being gone regardless. Good news is they have the 159th ranked class coming in

Their offensive philosophy isn't great with transfers. They don't really run sets you can just teach to new players. They run some PnR, but otherwise it's a lot of learned move and replace, triple threat, guard post-ups. It's not really a team like Alabama where you can plug guys into roles and spots on the court.

They're going to need to overhaul their way of playing if they want to win with transfers. Look at all their recruits that have flamed out or taken 3 years to contribute. There's a reason Wright got out.

They could really be in trouble. They have nothing coming in, it doesn't seem like they're seriously involved with anyone in the '24 class, and it's a tough place for transfers.

I think we're on the 3/4 line right now. Win 2 and we'll get a 3 seed.

That’s what bracketmatrix is currently showing. We’re the top team on the 4 line, though a ways away from the current 3s on average projected seed.

I’ll be intrigued to see how close to that pack of teams we can draw as new bracket projections that take into account this weekend’s results are released and calculated into the bracketmatrix averages early next week.
 
I think we are borderline 3/4 as well right now. We beat providence we are a firm 3. We beat Marquette we are the strongest 3. We win big east tourney, we ll be a 2

In a microcosm, it’s the whole Big East. Portal players don’t want to go to Villanova.
 
Could it be deja vu all over again?
This team is playing much like the 2011 team.
Undefeated in OOC play, won our preseason tournament, 9-9 in the league then, finished 9th overall in the league, won 5 in 5 nights and awarded a 3 seed............and won six more!
This year undefeated in OOC play, 13-7 in the league, finished 4th overall in the league, .............
So far, so good, in fact better than in 2011 overall so far.
Just need to finish like in 2011..............!

One thing to remember. Committee starts talking Wednesday. Games through Thursday generally effect seeding. Friday thru Sunday, only when something crazy happens.

Which makes being hot right now while everyone around us loses, is probably good news

Our resume and Gonzaga's are now so close as to be indistinguishable.

Unfortunately there's a decent chance Providence in MSG won't even be a quad 1 win if we do win on Thursday.

That St. John's home loss is killer.

Seton Hall is curently at 74 in the NET, so for the moment, that's become a Q1 loss and not quite so bad.

If you swap those, though we're almost certainly a 2-seed right now, or at least one of the top 3 seeds.

Win the BET, and I think there's an outside shot we get a 2.
 
We should be on the 4 line, no matter what happens next week. With Tennessee injury situation, we could make a real argument we should be on the 3 line, no matter what.

Hurley was not pleased with EC comments after the game about Uconn fans and their "expectations." Let's just say those comments will be shared with the team all WEEK.
