Great pickup for them... But to say they will be as talented... I don't know about that. I do think that UCONN will be #1 and Duke #2, though (next year).Link
IMHO Duke will be as talented as UConn next year with the recruiting class they have for next year. Duke will be loaded. .....
Congrats to Duke. Duke should be number 2 UConn 1 and it aint even close. UConn has a monster roster and will continue that with Ermark and Calhoun coming in. The two big Wilson and Turner either would put UConn over the top again. If UConn gets both, everybody else is playing for second place.

I'm talking about next year, not 2014. UConn will have 9 talented players on the roster with the addition of Chong.
Looking at Duke's roster of 13 players, they lose one to graduation and have a recruiting class of 4 players. If my math is correct that's a roster of 16 players. Duke Roster - Link I'm sure it will be straighten out if it needs to be. However with that said they'll have 14/15 talented players on their roster, much deeper then UConn.
Just found out that Jenna Frush is a walk on for this year and not on scholarship.
Not sure the point. Teams will only play at the most 9-10 in a competative game.
I'll take UConn's 9 over Duke's first 9 in 2013-14.
Looking at Duke's roster of 12 scholarship players, they lose one to graduation and have a recruiting class of 4 players. .
So will I, but I understand why Duke is happy.

UConn may end up with the better starting 5, but Duke will have more talent coming off the bench.
Hearing RU leads for Scaife. Not really new news since I think a Rutgers fan posted that on here a bit ago. But even Tennessee fans acknowledge that RU will probably land the talented guard...The Triangle arms race continues. Duke leaps past Tenn for the #2 class, and enough talent to keep up with the Tar Heelians.
Another blow for Tenn, as they were in the mix until the end. And I think they really could've used the size.
That leaves just Scaife on their board, and she's a G.
With the terrible injury probs they've had recently, seems like they need that full roster. Hope we don't!

Or, as the SEALs say, "First loser".But fear not Dookies, there is nothing wrong with finishing second!
Very happy for Duke but it still isn't close in talent. Anyone thinking it is needs a double check.
When you stop to consider that a big roster isn't always a happy roster, there is the potential to have a lot of hurt feelings and dissent when you have too many talented players and only a certain amount of playing time to give them. You might get away with it in the early part of a season but once the nitty gritty time comes, it's hard to infuse a lot of different lineups and create chemistry if too many players are used. I think that's one of the reasons that Geno usually doesn't have anywhere a full allotment of players because it would present too many issues, even though his roster size has sometimes come back to hurt him in the case of injuries.Tony

If you guys were coming to the ACC with the Irish what great fun that would be but a real damper on the womens game.

Very happy for Duke but it still isn't close in talent. Anyone thinking it is needs a double check. Plus it will be interesting to see McCallie manage the talent and expectations.
Would that be a discount double check?
