Step back Kemba! You will always be remembered as a UConn great. Too bad you didn't have 2 good knees to last longer in NBA. I wonder if the Celtics got a healthy Kemba if they wouldn't of already won 1 or 2 more NBA titles.

He made kneepads look like armor.

I'm a little sad that it's over for him. Hard to accept the end for any icon. He'll be great at whatever he chooses to do next.

Feel like this needs to be watched again.

So good to see that again. Such a special player and such a special year. Won Maui (destroying Kentucky and their stunned fans), won the Big East, won the NCAA and the only losses all year were the nine in the Big East regular season.

But, for all the greatness of that year and, especially the five wins in the Big East tournament, MSG features Syracuse beating us in the six overtime game as one of their special moments........seems like an empty tribute when you weigh it against the 2011 Big East Tournament.

I didn't follow Kemba's NBA career very closely but this seemed early to me. I checked, Iverson only played 2 years longer so I guess it's not too shabby. Thanks Kemba!!

Guys like Lebron and Curry are making people thing basketball players stay healthy into their 40s. Reality is most dudes are washed by 35. It's a tough game on the body.

I always wondered if playing on the New York asphalt caught up with Kemba. His knees were shot.

Outside of his great Uconn career, I personally loved watching him play in Charlotte for many years. Fans loved him here.

Yes, I know everyone hates the Hornets organization.

Who is even close to putting a team on his back until they were ready? To save the season and top it off with a title is just insane. Favorite husky ever.

I will always remember catching Kemba live for the first time the year after I graduated UConn. It was 2009, and got decent seats to see UConn play at MSG vs St. John's. It was a close game at the half, but Kemba's 21 points off the bench sealed the deal.

An absolute basketball legend. 2011 was just insanity and goes against logic playing nearly 40 minutes a game, 5 games in 5 days some of those games were in OT, then doing it in the tournament and making his teammates better. Kemba officially got us to blue blood status with the 3rd championship. Without Kemba there is no 2014 Shabazz or Tristen Newton winning back to back.

We might be looking like Indiana with our 2004 championship looking like ancient history if not for Kemba.

I truly believe Kemba is no doubt HOF if not for the knee injury, after he left the Hornets I do believe he wins a championship with the Celtics, even with his knees going he still put up all star and clutch performances in his short stints with the Knicks and Mavs.

Met Kemba in the lot of sports and medical sciences academy when the GHPA was there. Summer 2010. Time flies

Enjoy retirement!

Should make the Hall of Fame when you consider his college and NBA careers combined. What he did at UConn was legendary. 4 time NBA all-star. It's too bad injuries derailed his prime.
Basketball Reference only gives Walker a 15.1% chance of earning a spot in basketball's most hallowed halls.

While Walker looks like a longshot for the Hall of Fame at this point, it doesn't take anything away from his legendary college career. Since he is hanging it up for good, this is a perfect time to look back at some of his most iconic moments in a UConn uniform.

Greatest Husky of all time.

There should be a 30 for 30 on 2011 run. Titles Cardiac Kemba.

Let’s show a little more enthusiasm for the greatest.
