I can't say he is my "all-time favorite husky" because there are so many who have come through this program that I feel have illustrated so much that is good about the team, the university, college basketball and life in general.
That having been said... what Kemba did that whole year of 2010-2011, beginning out in Maui with his tour de force 3-game performance there (I still remember Squid's face as he was shocked by the beat down we gave his boys in that Maui championship game) culminating in the most incredible 11-game stretch that college basketball has ever seen or will ever see will always hold a special place in my heart. The way he played in that Saturday night Big East Championship game against Louisville in the 5th game in 5 days is forever etched into my memory. His indomitable spirit, boundless enthusiasm and unbreakable will embodied everything that is good about collegiate sports.
Thank you Kemba! for being a great player, and an even better ambassador for yourself, your family, our program, our school, and all of basketball!!! I agree with
@Umami Zen and would love to see him somehow back involved with the program, if he has any desire to do so in the future.
