He's ranked #43 according to ESPN. I haven't heard his name mentioned a lot with UConn but I'd love to land this kid.

I've read people complain about the wide net the staff has cast, but they seem to be doing a pretty good job of staying on top of things with a number of kids at multiple positions. Obviously landing them is the most important thing but having multiple options is the best route if they end up whiffing on some of their plan A's.

Wouldn't mind landing this kid. He can definitely stroke it. Reminds me of Sam Perkins a lil.

Yeah he's listed as a SG/SF. I was referring to his shooting form and the fact that he's a lefty.

He has over 20 offers from big time programs including Uconn. He is a Dallas kid..I'd say with that many schools offering that we are probably a long shot.

Aside from location.. That can be said for a lot of our targets for 2014. But I have a good feeling we'll land some of these guys.

I agree Ace. Ollie is casting a wide net with many Top 100 recruits, however, he is putting in work with those recruits. It seems as if all the players UConn has offered, lists UConn as one of the schools going after them the hardest. Ollie is full aware of the importance of this class and is working his Ashlynn Shade off to assure he gets a top class. I'm very excited to see how it plays out.

After the game, the Richmond (Texas) Bush wing told RivaIs.com that Connecticut is a school that is really standing out to him right now, while schools such as UCLA, Texas, Baylor and Florida are all making strong pushes. Additonally, Oubre listed Georgetown, LSU, Arizona and North Carolina, mentioning that his AAU teammate, Jackson, is pushing hard for Oubre to join him in Chapel Hill for their college years.

The four-star went on to say that he plans on making a decision sometime in the summer, possibly even during the July evaluation period. In the time between now and July, Oubre will be evaluating the schools interested in him, looking for a head coach who is stable, has a winning track record and can provide an excellent playing atmosphere for the Houston product.

He wants a good coach with excellent playing atmosphere, idk see any place that tops Uconn in that category

Really? I love UCONN, but I feel like there is far superior atmospheres in college basketball. Have you ever been to the XL center when we play St. Johns, Seton Hall, South Florida, DePaul etc?

DePaul has never played at the XL. Seton Hall hasn't played at the XL in a decade or so. USF played at the XL once. It was a good crowd considering it was a 6 PM game on New Year's Eve.

If you randomly pick out games vs. the lower rung old BE teams, the crowds at the XL are not that different than the crowds at Gampel. Just more seats to try and fill.
