2025 Recruiting: Kelis Fisher (merged threads)

Kelis is currently playing on ESPNU against Westtown (no Jordyn Palmer) if anyone’s interested.

Kelis' team, IMG, getting clobbered with a huge disparity in foul calls against through the first half. I believe that Kelis has 9 points at the half.

Yeah, a whole lot of phantom fouls, mostly against IMG. Refs were calling it like 6th-grade rec league, super-tight, zero physicality allowed. Their top three were in foul trouble almost from the start...

One 5-star teammate fouled out with only one point; I doubt she played more than 10 minutes total.

Fisher looked quite good in the time she was out there, probably no more than 15-18 minutes.

Kelis and IMG on ESPN2 now vs Montverde (Saniyah Hall). Kelis with first points of game.

In the first quarter, Kelis (personally) is leading Montverde 9 to 5 (4 drives and a free throw)...
She's an aggressive and fearless driver just like KK..........if they both can consistently hit their outside shots the two of them sharing the court at UConn along with Azzi and Sarah is going to be a nightmare for other teams.....

I wish I could be there to watch next season's practices and see KK and Kelis attacking and defending each other!
By the way, I believe that Kelis scored 23 points and hit 9 of 10 free throws (a great attribute for a player who drives well and gets fouled a lot).

Glad she’ll be at UConn. Highlights I’ve seen show her driving to right side- can she attack going left as well?
Interesting observation. There aren’t many players who don’t favor one hand. Even Paige and Azzi prefer going to the right, even though they can go left at times. KK favors her right hand even when she attacks from the left. Christyn was a lefty but could also finish with her right if she had to. By contrast, Juju and Hannah strongly favor their right hands.

My father and brother and I are all naturally ambidextrous — it runs in the family. But even with this, habits develop and you have to work at overcoming them. It’s definitely doable, and maybe Kelis will decide to develop her left hand. It’s not just about strength. Hand-eye coordination is the bigger hurdle. My brother and I once spent a summer trying to eat and write with our off hands. I was 12 and he was 14. It took some doing and a lot of mistakes and spills, but after a few months I was comfortable using either hand for such tasks, as well as throwing shooting catching and batting. It came in handy (see what I did there?) in a few sports.
