He's heading to the College of Southern Idaho.

Thus temporarily ends of the story of the most overhandled three-star recruit in recent memory.

I think he might be better off cutting loose the people who kept trying to run his transcript past admission department after admission department without any real hope of success.

Well at least until he Kasongo's them.

I feel for the kid. He squandered opportunities due to bad advice. It's a shame.

The same school that gave Nate Miles a home.

This place admitted Nate Miles AND Kasongo?

And to think that I trout Boise State had the lowest standards of any college in Idaho.

At the end of the day, his grades were just too lousy to get him past the clearinghouse.

CSI is a very strong program - Eddie Sutton started the program and they've won a number of national JUCO title. (Although not in 2000 when the College of Johnnie Selvie's squashed them on his way to a juco title.)

The article says he's a qualifier and could stay in JUCO for 1 year and then transfer to a D1 school. So I have to ask, why would any recruit go JUCO if he was NCAA academically qualified? I understand his academics aren't the best but there are plenty of good basketball schools out there who will take a recruit as long as he's a full qualifier. Schools like Kansas and UConn looked at him so I'm assuming he's a pretty good basketball player. If he's a full qualifier he'd have lots of suitors. I'm guessing he really isn't a qualifier and will be in JUCO for 2 years.

Maybe going Juco allows him to get away and cut unwanted ties, people, etc.
After Juco He could then start the whole D1 recruitment process over on different terms.

I don't know why some UConn Men's fans dump on Miles - he disappeared on the NCAA in 2011 title run after 1 interview with the media when the NCAA was trying to nail Calhoun. As for the girl incident/restraining order - much was a misunderstanding and it was more about the mother hating him than anything about her daughter - not much happened legally after all was said and done.

Saying the program was started by Eddie Sutton doesn't exactly make it look any cleaner.

He may have gotten scared by the rash of schools suddenly losing interest in him. Considering his "handlers" probably only wanted him at a big-name school, they probably shunted him to the JUCO route to avoid him being stuck at a mid-major program (although that may be where his skills would've taken him...). Maybe he thinks a year there can rehab his image. I doubt it though.

No way this kid is a qualifier. There's tons of schools that would take him otherwise.

Purity is now actually out of college basketball if Memphis does have minimum standards. Innocence is lost.

Someday, I could grow antlers and help pull Santa's sleigh.

Here's a tip - don't hold your breath in either case.

If he's eligible, he's not en route to a junior college in the middle of a cornfield right now.

This @RayKasongo32 story just gets weirder and weirder. His bags made it to Boise but he did not. I'm hearing he's now visiting Iowa. - Zagoria

Lmao this Kasongo Saga is out of control...
