Some homework for the people who were writing off Reibe after the exhibition games:
Both freshman were incredible tonight. Solo was huge at the start of the game too.Hurley didn’t lie when he said Braylon might be his best freshman ever. Just wow. And Reibe too. Two special talents
I dont know about Clingan-lite. I feel like Reibe is playing better than clingan as a freshman. More minutes, sure. But he just posted 12 and 8 (and good rebounds) at Kansas... in his 6th game
Its amazing how quickly a high IQ kid can adjust.I hope the dude who said Reibe would get eaten alive tonight by Kansas(in the Tarris GTD thread) can at least admit our boy more than held his own.
He didn’t have a great game but I’m not too worried about Silas.Mullins was awesome and lived up to the hype i was hearing. That kid is going to score a lot of points in the NBA. The rest of this season he will be a problem for opposing teams. Good luck stopping him when he gets comfortable. Hes the big story but shout out to Reibe who was awesome tonight. Absolutely big time! Stayed out of foul trouble, scored, blocked shots and rebounded against a pretty good frontcourt. I have no worries the rest of the season about the 5 spot once Reed gets healthy. With the emergence of REibe added to the already big expectations of Mullins who appears primed to do something special as a freshmen this team will be terrifying by March. The caveat will be Demery. If he doesnt clean up the poor decisions it could derail this season since Malachi while being a really nice back up is too shot first a guy to lead this team where it can potentially go.
Karaban plays like 38 minutes a game, lol.Stewart can back up Karaban at the 4.
He’s great! Wish he would dunk more thoughReibe is so solid and even here, not sure he is getting the attention he deserves.
He was so so solid tonight. He made it tough for Kansas to come inside, ripped down lots of rebounds, and made most his shots.
The homer TV announcers were to wrapped up about talking about the missing Kansas player (not ours) that they missed some nice talking points on development of players like Reibe - who were growing up b4 our eyes.
Without Reibe's presence we would have lost that game tonight.
He still looks like the same player from last year. A little better on D but still not aggressive on offense. He has the tools but just not the mindset to be agressive and score. He loves to settle for the wide open 3.I feel bad saying this because of his loyalty, but Stew needs to be like the 9th man once Reed comes back. Reibe, Smith, and Ross all ahead of him. 5-10 min backing up AK, maybe 5 backing up Mullins after Ross.
Just in terms of the impact off the bench and not losing much when he comes in. Different players but similar impact hopefully.I dont know about Clingan-lite. I feel like Reibe is playing better than clingan as a freshman. More minutes, sure. But he just posted 12 and 8 (and good rebounds) at Kansas... in his 6th game
Nothing against McNeeley very good player. I think Mullins will end up being a great freshman. We won a title with Castle but he was never our first option on offense. Mullins will be. You could just see it with Mullins watching the tape on him. He just has special written all over him. That's just wrong. Liam was hurt most of his one season here. You don't have to blow out Liam's candle to make Mullins candle shine brighter. Mullins looks like he may be one on the best freshman we have had. But why piss on McNelley?
Honestly, RuffRuff wasn't great tonight.Don't tell that to @RuffRuff .
I watched FL tonight against Duke and i like their team. I think theyll be better as the season goes on but they gave Duke a hell of a run and had them on the ropes in the final minute. I think once they realize Clayton jr isnt walking through the door theyll find their own identity and could be a team that makes a decent run at a back to back. I cant wait to play them. Its going to be a fun one. Whats crazy is that back before Hurley won the first of his back to back titles i had a dream that we beat Florida for the national title. Since that dream 3 of the 4 national titles have gone to Uconn and Florida. Maybe my prophecy comes true this season. 😁Mullins is going to feast on Florida's guards. Can't wait to see it.
Yeah, Clingan was a unicorn, there is no replacing his sheer presence and ability on defense. But I think Reibe may end up being the better overall basketball player. On offense he’s well ahead of DC. But DC was an eraser.
A bit soft, agreedHonestly, RuffRuff wasn't great tonight.
Huh? Hawkins showed potential as a frosh, but that’s all he showed. Not results. You can’t possibly compare how he started to what Mullins did tonight.Big time win, Reibe is much better than advertised and already playing like a veteran. Mullins is going to be special. He still has some rust he’s shaking off but I haven’t felt this way about a freshman since Jordan Hawkins made his UConn debut
He’s great! Wish he would dunk more though
Mullins is great, McNeeley was great. Why does it have to be a competition.Mullins is better than McNeeley and probably our best player. Great win.
We have to remember Ross and Jaylin are our 8th and 9th men.Stewart can back up Karaban at the 4.
I just don't know what you do with the kid - Alex plays a lot of minutes. We will have plenty at the 3 with Mullins there and Stew is not a 3, at all. If he did something super well where if we were short on it we could look to him, then I'd say let's bring him in. He feels like odd man out. I literally have no idea what he is other than a breather for AK.I feel bad saying this because of his loyalty, but Stew needs to be like the 9th man once Reed comes back. Reibe, Smith, and Ross all ahead of him. 5-10 min backing up AK, maybe 5 backing up Mullins after Ross.
Karaban plays like 38 minutes a game, lol.
YesterdayHow much longer before Mullins becomes the starter at 3?
Reibe is so solid and even here, not sure he is getting the attention he deserves.

One of best UConn road wins, considering:Best road win of the Hurley era? 😀
