Kansas Post Game Thread

Demary needs to do some soul searching. terrible game from him when he should be one of our leaders in a tough environment.

he continues to play too passive and deferential. not stressing the defense at all with the ball in his hands, just looking for the next person to pass to.

He’s three games removed from a single-handedly preventing disaster against BYU. Incredible how some people can’t see past what a player did 30 seconds ago.

As excited we are about Mullins, it is crazy that he was one banked three point shot away from being 22% from three tonight. It didn’t feel that way watching live. There is so much more to come, and I can’t be more excited for it!

I hope the dude who said Reibe would get eaten alive tonight by Kansas(in the Tarris GTD thread) can at least admit our boy more than held his own.
Reibe is so solid and even here, not sure he is getting the attention he deserves.

He was so so solid tonight. He made it tough for Kansas to come inside, ripped down lots of rebounds, and made most his shots.

The homer TV announcers were to wrapped up about talking about the missing Kansas player (not ours) that they missed some nice talking points on development of players like Reibe - who were growing up b4 our eyes.

Without Reibe's presence we would have lost that game tonight.

Props to KU for their switching defense. Bigger props to the UConn staff and players for figuring out how to beat it. And the biggest props for UConn's D, arguably their best defense half so far this season.
Better it gets thrown at them now so they can see it, than seeing it for the first time in the tourney and being surprised.

Tarris with the top notch IG story…

Mullins defense is also really good. He's often referred to as a shooter because he's so good at it but he's a complete basketball player. Knows how to navigate screens, shoots on the move, floaters, knows how to use the glass. Quick with everything he does both physically and mentally, a competitor. Enjoy him for this season before he's in the NBA.
He closes out very well on shooters with height and length to contest the shot. His length seemed to affect their shooters a bit tonight.

Great win against the only team that’s really had our number.

Our D in the second half was great; although their offense without DP is iffy, they were getting and making open shots in the first half. And our offense was good enough against a good defensive team.

Mullins and Reibe scored 29 of the team’s 61. And Mullins calmly sinking the front end of the 1 & 1, beautiful.

I like how the Kansas board is more interested in taking shots at Hurley than praising the defense of their players. We were getting mismatches, but it seems like we struggled to get the ball to the mismatched players.
That's actually what I'm most concerned about. We weren't able to get the ball into the post. It won't matter how good Reibe and Reed are if the guards can't get the ball to them

if Silas can become the player we expected, then watch out.

really hoping he can gain confidence during our conference schedule. that talent is there so just seems mental at this point.

The T-New2 prophecy of analogues for Silas says he gets his second triple double against St. John’s at MSG this year.

Halftime adjustments by the UConn coaching staff to KU's switching was huge.

He plays long and to his size on defense. Which is good.

Mullens opens up our offense by having a player to run action for also can create his own. Reminds me of Hawkins. Seems strong on d too, very quick to close out. Poor game from Silas but his first so giving a pass. Eric will be special.

This team is so resilient. On a less than stellar night, they remain tough, hang in there, and find a way to win. Nice adjustment by the end.

Totally agree - he’s making smart plays too.

I honestly don’t know where we need Stew once Mullins starts. He legit brings nothing we need as I’m yet to understand what he’s good at.
He can back up Karaban for 5 minutes a game. LOL!
