2027 Recruiting: Kaleena Smith

Am I the only one who thinks we have no shot with Kaleena? She stopped by campus briefly last year after her Hoop Hall tourney, but that could have been a good time where she could have done an official visit after her games were completed.

She's been on several official visits elsewhere and it could just end up being an NIL bidding war type thing like with Chavez. Lots of you bringing up the shoe deal with Adidas as well which could be what she's looking for in a school.

Just dont see it happening for us, but thats just me!

Smith could not have taken an OV anywhere last season because OVs are not permitted until after Aug. 1st prior to her junior year.

@Rings R Us - -Kaleena in a previous article spoke very highly of Geno!
Said she wants to be coached that way to get the most out of college!

Shes saying the right things! I would doubt she'd say in public it wasn't the right fit for her. I'd be shocked if she pickes UConn. Time will tell.

Also, Coach Valley always seems to like posts on Instagram for top target recruits. There hasn't been any for Kaleena in a long time. I'm guessing thats for a reason.

See #69 in this thread. Highly doubt she’ll be here.

.-.
Two years ago I read she’s a California girl. USC or UCLA
Kaleena may not be able to see it, because she’d probably get playing time early at both places, but those are probably the worst coaches for her development. Some things are difficult for a teenager (or her parents) to assess in advance. She (and her parents) would do well to reflect on the case of Londynn Jones, who has played at both schools. Why did she leave UCLA? Why did she (and Dunn) go to USC, and with what impact on Malia Samuels’ playing time?
