I think the most impressive "play" involving Kaitlyn during the NCAA tournament was against South Dakota State. In one play when Uconn was on offense (I think) and multiple people were trying to set picks in the paint, including Kaitlyn and one of the SDS player ran into a pick and was knocked down to the ground behind Kaitlyn. She stopped for a moment while the play was going and helped that girl up before continuing. It happened really fast, but who does that in the middle of a play, especially during the NCAA tournament. That says a lot about her character.

Shyanne Sellers (out of Maryland) was
drafted in the second round in the WNBA
draft. Kaitlyn Chen in the third round. So
with Shayann being cut after the first
week of training camp one can only
hope that bodes well for Kaitlyn's chances.
In any case it can't hurt. I saw this information
as a new item on my computer...
and I verified it. She was the 17th overall
draft pick. I googled Kaitlyn Chen and
Valkyerie and found no new information!!!

WOW! It’s shocking that Sellers was let go so soon and, most definitely, a good sign for Kaitlyn.

This is the part of the W that annoys me greatly! And so I wish there was a better way to increase the number of players on each team. Hoping Shyanne finds a new, permanent home, because she would do well in the League.

Maybe Sellers didn’t want to be in SF, got herself cut quickly and is hoping or expecting to catch on with a better team. Athletic 6’2” guards are always in demand.

or this is just how the W works. many/most draftees get cut....
Yes, to be sure. But here’s the thing. Golden State has 7 rookies in their camp, 3 who were drafted and 4 signed as free agents. They just cut their #2 draft choice, a player many pundits had going in the first round. They still have 6 rookies in camp. The fact that Sellers was the only player cut by an expansion team looking to build for the future is stunning to say the least.

Swipe..

The 4th-frame video says she's the "first Taiwanese-born player in the WNBA," but Wiki says she was born in California. I assume Wiki is correct, but would be interested if someone knows otherwise.

Agreed, and I think you gave the reason previously: (1) She didn't wish to be playing for an expansion team; (2) She didn't wish to be based on the West coast; or (3) Both. I'd guess #3.

I thought Kaitlyn played ok tonight. It was great to see her playing again and she looked pretty much the same as she did a month ago jk. The crowd gave her a huge ovation when she made her only basket. She botched a couple layups but showed an ability to get to the rim. She made a really great transition pass that lead to free throws. I do think they have 2 experienced points guards clearly ahead of her and two 2-guards ahead of her as well. But it seems like they will keep 12 and of the last 5 or 6 who played among the reserves, im bias of course, but I feel she was one of the better players.
