I don’t know, but it would be in the universities best interest to maximize potential attendance at the XL center given that anything less than a sellout is a money loser for it
So you’re saying they’ve got a play the number of games that they’ve agreed to in any contract? Fully agree with that, but the next contract could easily reflect less games.
Sure, let's just make it harder for most of the fans to attend a game. You'll also be reducing season ticket sales if you make the Hartford games less attractive. I would have most of the Big East games played in Hartford and less in Storrs.

Well, I have to imagine it’s probably more convenient for students, and the players, and the coaches, to, you know, play on campus? Well, I’m sure they’re not more important than you are.

Actually, I can see how the difference between Hartford and Storrs is material for a weeknight basketball game for Fairfield County fans. I don’t really see it at all for a Saturday afternoon football game, though.

I will say Connecticut is a ridiculously miserable state to drive through. I thought getting rid of the toll booths was supposed to fix that.

Nope. Not even close. There were thousands of people sitting in the 200's level. Fans that people that don't go to games will ever see on TV. Fans that never heard of the Boneyard and bought a single game ticket. Those tickets sold are all straight cash to UConn. I judge by how high the critical mass goes up in the second deck. It was pretty high. Not high enough to see from Florida maybe.
Hey you going to the Gator game maybe you will be able to see them then

Glad this game was at Gampel.

Had the played the game at the XL Center UConn would have gotten the smack down.

7,766 announced, much less in seats. Brutal. UConn fans who actually go to games have made their preference clear.

As someone who was at both. Give me that Gampel crowd over the XL crowd.
So you prefer a more inimate crowd. Fine. Still, 4K times $40 is $160,000. That's a high price for intimacy, imo.

Anyone else with tickets deciding to stay home today to watch on TV instead of going to XL for DWST game....

Rather watch football and UConn on the DVR than leave the house...

If XL finished its sportsbook in time, you could have the best of both worlds!

I don't think UConn is making all that much more at XL if they even are. I've talked to people in the athletic department and it seems the department would prefer to have all games at Gampel. If it was making that much more they would just move more games to XL. This season we are playing 1 more game at Gampel vs. XL. With the biggest being on campus.

Now if XL got a total renovation I could see that opinion changing from fans and the school. Right now it just isn't a great product at XL. It's not awful but it's far from being good. And will continue to get worse every year.

What's new that doesn't help. South garage for season ticket holders only?
Yea it makes for an easier exit out of the garages. But walking from North to Gampel in 30 degree weather was brutal lmao. I prefer convenience. Gampel has the better in game experience. But XL was more convenient and is now way more convenient. The other change is the parking kiosk. I hate them.

Had to go back to this thread. Had a blast being in attendance with my 9 year old son and watching Newton getting that triple-double. We sat low near the court, at the end of the night my son was able to walk near the tunnel where the UConn players exited while still being in the stands. Every player, coach and water boy high-fived my son on the way out. Everyone was generous and acknowledged him. Special players, special coaches, and special staff. Was the best part of the night. You can see it in the team, how they gel together. I think that was the silver lining to Hawk and AJax being injured for a bit, gave other players an early opportunity. We saw it then and we see it now.

Haven’t been to campus since the Houston game just before Covid. Headed back for Creighton on 1/7. There’s not lot across from Ted’s anymore, correct? Is there still parking adjacent to Huskies/Tavern?

A cushion adds height, making it easier on knees to get up from chair.

Or it's hemmoroids.
Easier on the butt too.

Nothing more uncomfortable than sitting on a wooden chair without a cushion.

I'm sure there will be someone nice seats available behind the visitors bench when OSU returns most of their allotment. I worked with a bunch of Pokes, some of who are still in NYC, and they aren't bothering making the trip to Storrs for an early mid=week game
