Athleticism is my one concern for this season and it bit us on the butt some last season along with point guard play. It's one of the reasons I wanted Toure so much. We're not exactly recruiting great run and jump guys.
Question is, how much run & jump do you really need in Hurley's system? If you take 2024 for instance, I'd say 4/5 of the starting lineup was sub average in those categories. AK, Newt & Spencer certainly don't grade well there. Perhaps Clingan was the great equalizer.
Clingan made so much of it work, he was a cheat code. We had the two best defenders in the country in him and Castle. Athleticism and defensive defencies from Tristen, Cam and AK could be covered up by them.

True but we went from 12 as Diaby was inneligible last year so ate a spot of 13.

He's not going to be a day 1 star and he'll need time to hit some of the typical milestones. He's lacking that elite athletic pop, so he he might never actually be a true star at all. But I think he could be a star in his role type that announcers gush over doing all the little things and defending.
I think in today’s recruitment landscape and in particular with this class, per the Hurley method, a high floor kid that fits the system and should stick year over year is really valuable.
Same thoughts here. Hurley sees a high-level bigger combo guard who will be a rock in the backcourt for the next few seasons. Demary may be here for his senior season, Solo too, so County is a very good building block in the backcourt who will get better each year.
