For those who don’t know, I moved to Florida a few years ago (no, I’m not retired, just relocated). I’m channel surfing while doing housework, or goofing off; I get them confused. Anywho, I came across an Eastern Florida State College (EFSC) vs St Petersburg College (SPC) women’s game and am watching. I wasn’t expecting much but have been pleasantly surprised. EFSC has some really nice talent and upon looking at their roster there are a lot of foreign born players. Im especially impressed by a 6-3 kid from England named Isimenme Ozzy-Momodu (yo, Geno!). Leilani Guione (5-11 guard) is also a nice player.
I’ve never paid much attention to JUCO colleges. Does anyone know if Florida JUCOs, particularly, are a talent hotbed? It seems like foreign players are coming this way to get exposure to potentially transfer to NCAA DI. I wouldn’t mind seeing some good basketball in person. When UCF joins the Big 12 I’ll go to those games but need someone local to root for.
Turns out Eastern Florida is the #2 ranked JUCO. Lucky me!
