She was driving to the basket on a fast break and got fouled. Not a nefarious foul...good basketball play. But she instantly grabbed her knee and could not put any weight on it.

And Samuels is on the floor getting assistance after being BODIED. This game is getting ugly.

Just be be clear, I am not “liking” that her knee buckled, but your assessment of the injury

You’re right. It’s ugly. That’s why I turned the channel after Juju’s injury. State is playing high school ball and they are fouling like crazy.
 
Anybody else find the crowd reaction to Mississippi State a little unusual? It sounds like they are getting a constant booing whenever they tough the ball. I get how incredibly disappointing the injury was, but didn't see any ill intent or reason for this kind of a reaction.

Southern Cal's players have reacted admirably to the situation but I think their fans have demonstrated a certain lack of class. At least that is the way I see it.

I saw the play live (on TV) and the replays... There was mild bumping, and she went slightly off-balance, which may have contributed to the injury...

But like others said, it could have been one of those things where the knee was "ready to go" and the action may have "helped" the knee go out.

Agreed, Aaliyah Edwards used to foul her own teammates going for rebounds harder than Samuels got bumped.

Yes, I see and hear the reaction from the fans. It's just awful. What a horrible memory if you happen to be a state player.

Yes, the fans are just being out of control IMHO. Acting childish.
