I don't really have an interest in knowing what the infraction was, but I am pleased that the school is following through with a consequence.
I'd be even more pleased if schools like Texas followed through on violations committed by star football players.
I have - I don't want to dredge up the name, but there was a Rutgers player who was put out of school - it was academics. She did what she needed to do and returned the following semester, returned to the team, and eventually went on to become a police officer I believe.I haven't heard of a punishment like this before, where the student doesn't even enroll in the school for a semester.

What the?!?
Okay dirt diggers, what really happen here.[/QUOTE
I agree---Dirt was flying when Cooper or DD left Tenn--Are the Horn's off limits??
I mean, if she's not enrolled for the fall semester, and academics is the cause, the only way really to mitigate that academic problem is through remedial courses. Am I wrong in this? Which could also mean she was scheduled to take classes this summer to take care of previous issues and perhaps failed to take these classes. Perhaps?
I would guess something academic. Though something disciplinary also possible.
Nevermind...just read the article! Duhhhhhhh...reading is fundamental!!!Did she make the trip to Italy with the U19 team???
Harmful speculation is against the rules. In the past, we would have had people tossing out things like "she probably got arrested/pregnant/etc" without a shred of evidence - that is harmful speculation. But tossing around the possible reasons for missing the fall semester is not. What does Nan say about Speculation on Kids ---Geeezzzzz! (what I usually got)

Kendall Cooper at Duke went through the same thing not enrolled for an entire semester of her Junior season.I haven't heard of a punishment like this before, where the student doesn't even enroll in the school for a semester.
1) Not usually. In this case not enrolled means no scholarship. If you are suspended from participating in your athletic program is your scholarship also suspended? Does the suspension period count against your eligibility?
