Me too. I keep hearing about USC but I highly doubt they will contend for a top recruit.
Like Isaac Hamilton?

http://zagsblog.com/articles/jordan-mclaughlin-making-a-statement-out-west/What is the latest with McLaughlin any ways? We hear a lot about Perkins, some with Joseph, but not too much about McLaughlin. I know we offered & he lists us, but not a lot of chatter. I think Ollie saw him once recently. Anyone know anything else? Some scouting reports have him ranked higher than Perkins. He's very quick with a great handle. While we'll have good size in the backcourt with other players, sometimes you need someone who can blow by opponents like this guy.

PG-Perkins Purvis
SG-Calhoun Purvis
SF-Hamilton Purvis
PF-Abu/Facey
C-Nolan/Facey
Check out this report by 3uconn. In second live period Joseph got more watches by staff then the other two pgs UConn is recruiting. http://the-boneyard.com/blog/second-live-period-report/Yeah, I saw that one the other day & something similar on ESPN. I just don't know how hard the staff is recruiting him. That's more of what I meant. I hear lots of folks on here say we're doing well with him, then from him basically "no one is leading". Maybe he's just quieter than others about it. I like his game a lot.
One giant question that remains is can Purvis play the Point. If he can't we need a point guard who is ready to start from day one. I don't think Samuels will be ready for that role. I think Hamilton Perkins and Abu would be the ideal class maybe add a lower ranked guy. Have the lineup look like this.
PG-Perkins Purvis
SG-Calhoun Purvis
SF-Hamilton Purvis
PF-Abu/Facey
C-Nolan/Facey
Brimah Samuels and Tolksdorf get minutes where they can. Who knows if Purvis would ok being the 6th man. He would get plenty of time.
Facey will play some 5. Ppl who think he wont get minutes at the 5 are way off.
How many shot blocking 6'9" power fowards are there in college basketball?
I'll be stunned if Facey plays as many minutes at the 4 as he does at the 5. He's going to primarily play center in college.
How many 180 lb Centers are there in College Basketball? The guy is a PF (he's 6'8" or 6'9" and rail thin). Every scouting report lists him as a PF. Some of you guys are hoping to be beat up in the paint again like last year.
Then he's going to play no more than 5 minutes a game this season. DeAndre Daniels is playing around 35 mpg this year, and they're not going to move him to his weaker position just to make room for Facey.
Edit: and that's not accounting for Giffey playing some 4.

There's still a large portion of fans on here who think Daniels is moving back to the 3, it's baffling.
It's amazing that some people think Daniels game is a PF, when he's built like a SF, plays like a SF, scores all over the court, handles the ball a little bit. Basically UConn started 2 PGs last year (Napier & Boatright), a 2G (Calhoun), a SF (Daniels) and a PF (Olander). I can see Daniels playing some SF, which is his more natural role. He may start as a traditional PF in your terms, but he's not a PF. Wake up!

Obviously he's not Jeff Adrien, you seem to be missing the point entirely and going by your comments I'm wondering how much college ball you watch at all. The majority of teams play guys who would normally play the SF spot in the NBA at the PF/4 spot in college, and you can say the same about NBA sized SGs playing SF, NBA sized PFs playing C, and NBA sized PGs playing SG(or just Guard). The college game has been like this for years with positions scaling down in size. Seems like you need to do the waking up.
