Johnny Juzang Transferring

So what is his reasoning for filing for a waiver? Just want to keep track of what works and what doesn't. The NCAA doesn't seem to have any rhyme or reason for granting waivers.

He's from LA, they'll find some reason he had to move home

idk why everyone just doesnt do what grimes did to maximize their chances of getting a waiver. it seems so easy:
1) declare for the draft but dont sign with an agent
2) give the hometown/local school you actually want to transfer to a silent verbal
3) withdraw from the draft after your old school fills your scholarship but before the june 15th withdrawal deadline
4) officially sign with the new school
5) apply for a waiver based on the fact that you lost your scholarship at your old school and come up with some bogus excuse for needing to be closer to home just in case

That would happen about 3 times before the NCAA caught on and stopped approving waivers in that scenario

it's a more legitimate "reason" than being homesick. a bunch of guys enter the draft every year that have have no business doing so. it's a good thing when they decide to return to school. ncaa would be imputing too much to claim it wasnt all in good faith and certainly couldnt prove otherwise

I'm stating the obvious, but this whole cat n mouse thing w/ the the ncaa regulatory cycle is exhausting. They throw out a restriction, immediately all transfers line up under the exception category of the restriction. Its a joke, I really hope the NCAA continues to artificially restrain until they run themselves into the ground.

Preach!

Great IPAs.
Y'know I went to a Stone taproom in CA last year and all the kids were drinking Stone's wag at an NEIPA.

West Coast IPAs always give me a headache (along with all Sam Adams products)

Wonder how many of these kids get to play right away while Martin won't?
You called it. I don't think Martin has applied for a waiver though.

UCLA’s Johnny Juzang has received a waiver from the NCAA and is eligible for the 20-21 college basketball season, a source confirmed to ZAGSBLOG Wednesday.

Really? I wonder why not?

A lot of folks on here have said that it was the plan all along and that he is supposed to be Hurley’s “replacement” for Bouk. I don’t necessarily understand it though; provided Bouk does leave after this year, he’d still have another year to potentially be our go to wing scorer and if so, could get to the league faster. Guys often seem to take a bit to shake off the rust after sitting out a year; he risks coming out a little sluggish next season if he takes the year off imo.
