Bit surprised but so be it.

Terry Francona available? Tony Lovullo? Too bad neither are.

Brad Ausmus get a look?

Torey Lovullo a better baseball man than Tony I hear.

How about Girardi?

No experience but hear good things about Cora. Likeable guy. Could be good.

I like the concept of catchers as managers. They are as involved in every game as any one person can be. They know pitching, hitting, and defense position. They can also call the game from the bench in a pinch.

On the other hand, I read that Ausmus is not much different, strategy-wise, than Farrell. I suppose it is more nuanced.

Tek ain't ready. Doesn't have the seasoning. But I'd like to see him heavily involved on the bench.

Letting Lovullo got when they knew he was a better manager was a big mistake. Can't be sentimental in sports. I think the cancer thing allowed Farrell to keep his job. And yeah, I'm sensitive to both the optics and his situation (which sucked).

Sounds like it is between Cora, Ausmus and Gardenhire.
