UConn already has contracts to play Penn State, Maryland, Duke, Stanford, Baylor, Oregon and Hartford next season. Ohio State, Boston University, Old Dominion and St. Bonaventure are also on next year’s schedule as, most likely California will be – should they agree to play the Huskies in the Maggie Dixon Classic in New York City.
That's a pretty great core group. I'd love to see UCONN continue to play ND (once a year only) in home-home. BU is typically at, or near, the top of the America East Conference. The Bonnies were good a few years back, not so sure they are solid at this time. Once EDD graduates, ODU should continue to top the CAA. But what about OSU? I guess Geno and Jim decided to put friendship aside for the good of scheduling games?
Still, of the 11 teams listed, 6 should be ranked, and 3 of the remaining 5 should be near the top of their respective conferences. Good for Geno for looking ahead just in case... Let's hope the Big 10 and Big 12 decide to expand again...
