“Now that she has the blank canvas, her game off the dribble, her ability to pass and open up teammates, because of the attention she will get, will be the next step to being a great player.”

I think KML did a lot of that already. Her passing was better, her game off the dribble was better, her rebounding was better, her defense was better. Even her shooting was better.

All-American as a soph? She is already a great player and getting greater.
I think KML had a wonderful season where all her skills improved immeasurably. Her rebounding, passing and defense were outstanding. She would have been a starter even if her shooting skills were just average because of all the other things she brings to the team so I think she was a superstar here last year.

You can set your watch to Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis. She is a UConn kid through and through, and thank goodness she had the self-awareness and confidence at 15 years of age to recognize that and make the early commitment to the school and coach she was built to play for.

Breanna Stewart will be the motor of the Huskies the next couple of years, but Kaleena will be the engine.
One of the things that makes her a favorite of mine is beyond all her skills (which are many) she's a great kid and a WONDERFUL recruiter. She's actually done a heckuva job working to get talented kids to come here and she's helped immeasurably in that regard.

Kara is a great student of the game and her analysis is spot on.
More than a headache, rather an undecipherable dilemma for next season's opponents (if anyone chooses to play us).
Kara Lawson is my favorite women's basketball commentator and on the men's side, it's Jay Bilas. Both of them played for hated schools, Tennessee on the women's side and Duke on the men's side but both of them are classy, articulate and show no prejudice when they express opinions. They don't let any allegiance to their schools get in the way of wonderful observations and commentary.
