Joe F Numbers

C’mon yesterday they called him a loser during the first series and said we’d lose by 40. That was a character win. Those kids, led by that staff stuck with it, kept grinding throughout the season and their perseverance paid off. Still don’t love the 3-3-5, but I mentioned somewhere that I wonder if Brock brings more to the table than I thought.

Nah. I specifically said teams shouldn't draft a QB that late for sole purpose for QB depth.

If a team thinks Joe is a legit candidate to be QB1 or QB2, by all means draft him.

Weinke won a Heisman. Slough went in the 2nd round and is now starting. Weeden was a 1st round draft pick. Not exactly comps for where Joe is currently.
 
Most QBs don't pan out. If team thinks he has value where he can come off the bench in an emergency situation and not destroy your season, his age won't be a problem. Might be an asset. His decision making is top notch probably cause he's older.

I love fagnano. I dont think we are wrong to predict great things for him. His record has been impressive.
I mean, I hear NY Giants fans anointing Jaxson Dart as the 2nd coming of Christ and homeboy is 2-7

5. UConn QB Joe Fagnano

OK, we know, putting a UConn QB in the Heisman conversation is a bit like adding Nachos BellGrande to the tasting menu at The French Laundry. But hear us out: Fagnano was 27-of-39 for 311 yards and three touchdowns passing, ran for 51 more yards and scored a critical 2-point conversion late as the Huskies knocked off Duke 37-34. Fagnano now has 25 touchdown passes without a pick this season -- the first player to do that since Marcus Mariota in 2013. Fagnano has thrown 382 consecutive passes without an interception, passing Russell Wilson (379) for the second-longest streak in FBS history. He now trails only Louisiana Tech's Colby Cameron, who threw 444 straight without an INT in 2011 and 2012. In other words, it's time to award Taco Bell with a Michelin star.

NFL starters usually miss games, so backups are very valuable, and easily worth a late draft pick

The Duke game really helps JF case to be drafted. Let’s be honest a lot of the other games were against pretty mediocre college football teams. JF played incredibly well yesterday being constantly under pressure.
 
I thought 7th year was insane but watching a Duke game earlier this year, they had an 8th year player. I always think of the animal house line. "Seven years of college down the drain"
 
I've posted this before, but it's worth mentioning again. His first game (won the job in camp) was against NCST. That first drive was a thing of beauty. I thought this is it, finally. Then he got banged up and was not the same. Since then, like most yarders, I've been on and off. Recently I was critical of him pulling up, or throwing the it away when a first down could have iced the game. Well he's proven me wrong. He certainly laid it all on the line on that 2pt conversion and on several of his other runs. Right now, he's the complete package, make all the throws and can do some damage with his legs. Exciting to watch!

His improvement has been huge. I remember sitting in the Rent last year at the Wake game behind a couple of scouts for somebody. Bowl game, another college team, NFL, I dunno. They had flown in a couple hours before and taken an Uber to the stadium. I remember voicing my disgust at Nick for missing a wide open receiver and shouted, "Put in Fagnano!" It registered with them as they both turned their heads a bit. I think at the time Joe was #2 on the depth chart.

Yeah I remember going to the Rice game last year and vehemently asking for Joe Fagnano to get in and take out Evers. It was so obvious last year that Joe F. had a better chance to be good than Evers but all that NIL money we wasted was taking precendence.

FYI, I said my favorite team in the drop down menu was Miami Hurricanes just because I don't know if choosing UConn would devalue my vote in any way.
