He repeated several times that UConn is elite 8 good. Nothing wrong with him. I believe he did the 2008 Paradise Jam tournament when UConn won it 2008 over Wisconsin. Dykes was dancing with Dyson ! He is a pretty chill guy.

Same announcers for three days in a row are always going to become stale. I thought they did a good job. The VCU game was a tough game to call with the sloppy physical play. I would gladly take this crew over some of the 3rd and 4th level crews UConn would get for random AAC games

Dykes was funny end of OT after UConn was at the FT line and yelling “NO FOUL” he said Danny’s not hoping for this more than I am. The game was painful.

Shulman and Bilas have turned to cliche crap and they are the lead ESPN team.
100% - Bilas used to be the best out there, but I honestly don’t think he does any research anymore. He basically just has a few talking points that he forces into every broadcast.

Their call had a unique feel that went well with the ballroom setting and questionable officiating. I can see why Hurley wanted to just get out of there with 2 wins. That VCU game was an absolute rock fight that capped it off. Truly nice to win one of those early in the season, even if it was painful to watch.

That thing that irked me about Dykes was the Smith foul of Polley at the end of the first half in the Auburn game. He watched one replay and concluded conclusively there was no foul. Yes, Smith's hand doesn't hit Polley at all, but his elbow is on Polley's elbow before that which was a foul.
Later on he brought it up as a crucial call several times, But it was actually correct.

He didn't bother me that much but if he was playing up VCU he had every right to do so - that team was a terror to play
