That's my evaluation of Rakim. UConn has that player already. You know who else is a plodder? Tyler Olander. But this kid is bigger, maybe he's stronger too, has more length. Maybe more effort. Who knows? Would I take a Tyler who is bigger, stronger, gives more effort? Yes.

I'm hoping they can get one of the other bigs 3uconn has stated we are targeting. Not to say I would be upset with Jessie if he was the big UConn were to get. I just would prefer someone more athletic.
he's nothing like Roy Hibbert.
I watched him at EYBL Minnesota, worst comparison ever
Yeah, not sure I'm seeing the Hibbert comparison from these videos. Hibbert was really tall and really uncoordinated as a frosh. Govan is not nearly as tall but looks like he has good hands.
If we want a Georgetown big man comparison, I'm thinking Mike Sweetney is our man.
I just think the offense bogs down with any of the current bigs in the line up and Rakim playing the 4. And it will be the same if UConn gets Govan and he plays alongside Govan. I see Rakim playing a TO role on the team as a back up 5.Rubin is not a center so I'm wondering why everyone is going there. If you watch the video's there is no doubt he's much more Freeman (because he's definitely not 6'8" and lucky to be 6'6") and we can use a sapce eating rebounder next to our "plodding" shot blockers LOL.......we need the Rock I tell ya!
I think we should wait on a video from 2013-2014. This video is from May 2012...
I just found this video from October. Its pretty obvious he can't jump worth a damn and will probably be a glutton for fouls, but getting a solid body (mind you, who is ranked 4 stars by ESPN), is a step in the right direction.I didn't even notice that......wow he's a year more advanced than that and still has more to go? I'm guessing we'll like him more than we think.......

Rack would play the 4 no?I just think the offense bogs down with any of the current bigs in the line up and Rakim playing the 4. And it will be the same if UConn gets Govan and he plays alongside Govan. I see Rakim playing a TO role on the team as a back up 5.
Most people think that's his position. And certainly he could play the four with AB or PN at the 5. But that offense would really stagnate and be far more detrimental to the team than any gain in rebounding, imo.Rack would play the 4 no?
