2026 Recruiting: Jerzy Robinson

I don’t know if this has been mentioned previously, but something else to consider with Robinson is she has a deal with Nike. It’s my understand that SC work with Under Armor, LSU and UConn are both Nike schools. I’m not sure that’s a big factor, but something to keep in mind. And then LSU is pretty deep at the G/W position. There may be more minutes for her at UConn to start the season, compared to LSU. Robinson directly mentions in an interview with regards to her choice of school that coaching, tournament performance, offensive style of play, other players on the team, support system, building her as a woman, and an organization with faith as important. She also mentions that NIL is not a huge factor for her, something that will come along with the basketball. I may be bias but all of those things to me scream UConn…

Interesting comments by Jerzy Robinson on a "SI" report (On3)
(see thread #115, above) where she describes what she is looking
for in a future program: I look for "the support system"... a
program that "builds me as a woman in the world" and
" I want faithful people and a faithful organization". Embedded in
this thread is a video of Jerzy playing in last summer's 2025
SLAM SUMMER CLASSIC. Note in the video that Jerzy is # 5
in Black and her teammate, # 25 in Black, is OLIVIA VUKOSA!!!!
FIVE MORE HOURS until 4 PM.... Waiting for Godot, uphs..VUKOSA!

I’ve never considered what NIL shoe deal kids have very relevant to recruiting. FWIW tho, SC is moving to Nike next year.

I do think it’s down to SC and UConn with a UConn lean, but that’s probably also my bias showing 😅 Like you mentioned, LSU is heavy on guards which is why I don’t think it will be LSU

I think Dawn is more open about her faith than Geno, who keeps it private and doesn't impose his faith on his players. The players who jump to mind who are open with their faith include Maya and Paige, and many of Paige's teammates credit her with their journey to discovering their own faith.

Many UConn WBB players over the decades have attributed their success in life both on and especially off the court to Geno, CD and other coaches and teammates. They instill in their players confidence, resilience, and life-skills through practice and straight-talk that they can carry with them long after their playing days are over. Creating strong and powerful women is certainly a legacy worth striving for. In this regard I hope Jerzy gives UConn WBB their due as one filled with faithful people within a faithful organization, whether you wear it on your sleeve or not....

...And come together as a team to kicks opponents' butts on the basketball court on their way to national championships!
