Jeremy Lamb In Line For A Contract Extension

If Lamb is worth 21m for 3 years, there is a place for Boat. Who plays brilliant D and brings passion.
Jeremy Lamb is also 7 inches taller and plays the same position. There's more to basketball than defense and passion.

Great for Lamb and Uconn. He helped win a title and this contract is somewhat proof he was underutilized early in his career. Uconn has had a bit of slump when it comes to NBA talent (still nothing to sneeze at), so any 2nd contract is good news.

Wow...assuming this link is right, there are only 7 Huskies currently in the NBA, and 2 of them (Butler and Charlie) might be close to the end of the line. Without looking, I would have guessed we had about 10 in the league. I hope Boat is able to stick for at least an AJ Price kind of career and that we can get that count back up in the teens like it was a few years back.

I'm pretty sure the count is about to start climbing again, and fast. KO isn't messing around in the talent department lately.

Great news!!!! Happy for Jeremy, even happier for the Bobcats, and a gigantic to Scott Brooks. Lamb had a role on that OKC team and Brooks went out of his way to exclude him.

Giddy Lamb

That's a great deal for Lamb. Hard to believe he's still only 23, if he proves himself he will be lined up for a bigger contract at 26/27 years old when he's really in his prime.

Happy for J Lamb. This contract is being universally panned. The Hornets must be expected him to blow up this year.

Congrats JL - $21 million for 3 years
Now go out and prove everyone that you are a bargain!!!!!!!!!!

With this salary and many others this year, people completely forget the insane raise in salaries due to the NBA's new TV deal. There has been about a 30% increase in salary due to the new money being brought in. If a player like Amir Johnson in Boston can command $12 million (albeit a one year deal) then Lamb is worth around the 5-7 million range. Heck, Jae Crowder is commanding $7 million over 5 years, and although I see Crowder a better player, he and Lamb are similar in ability. May have been a slight overpaying, but not by more than $1.5 million a year.

Everybody knows about the TV deal, $7M a year is still a lot of money for a guy with not much of a track record after 3 years. The deal was more a testament to Lamb's draft position and the Hornets belief in his potential. I think Lamb will more than live up to the deal but its easy to understand why NBA twitter was acting like cornballs over the deal.

I hate to be a downer, but with drummond dominating and lamb on the rise someday we are going to look back on the 2012 season and say, wtf...

Especially if bazz can start getting some pt in orlando.
