40th percentile puts him in the bottom half with 60% of players being better. Is that good?Huge!!! Primed to breakout on O, and keep improving D
40th percentile DBPM on EvanMiya among D1 players, so not as bad as some have said

Yes. It’s not great, but some had been saying he was statistically one of the worst defenders in D1. Stats probably came from another model, but this model says he’s not that awful40th percentile puts him in the bottom half with 60% of players being better. Is that good?
Thanks. Personally I like him. He has walled up guys from time to time this year so seems to have ability. Just needs to bring it every possession next year.Yes. Can you let those of us with fully grown children in on what it means.I had to ask my son what that meant also. Man I feel so old. Lol
I agree with this and all your posts about stew and the other 3.The Solo, Ross, Stewie, and Reed nucleus is gonna hit like crack.
Well revisit this next year when that group is killing it.
Let’s go!
I agree with this and all your posts about stew and the other 3.
The BYs track record of predicting the growth of certain Huskies has been abysmal:
Sanogos a black hole down there sit him.
AJax should be at end of the bench.
Hawkins can't defend
Joey C is a liability and will never learn to defend
Hass needs to come off the bench
Samson....don't get me started.
If all 4 of those guys stay....watch out
To me, Ross moves on the court very seamlessly. Like he easily gets to spots and beats his man because of his quickness and athleticism. He settled down as a defender towards the end of the year and is a pretty good playmaker. For me Stewie, Solo and Reed a must. I guess for me I would’ve preferred Abraham to stay rather than Ross, but I hope I’m wrong but just don’t see much there.
I’ll add a lot of the boneyard questioned Castle’s determination to be a PG in the NBA and Solo having a breakout year this past year.I agree with this and all your posts about stew and the other 3.

Nah, Ross doesn't have the offensive skills including his horrible shot but he is a nice hustle guy though. I don't really see a lot of upside in his game like I do with Stewart. Out of those 2 Stewart has a shot of NBA. Ross barely played end of the year and Stewart was taking over the defensive assignments of guarding the best players at the end of the year over him.To me, Ross moves on the court very seamlessly. He just needs confidence in his scoring and then he’s an NBA prospect. Scoring and confidence will unlock A LOT to his game.
Which is why I hope we get to see him as a leader with a group of guys he’s close with in Solo and Stew. Playing with guys like that can do wonders for your confidence while also just being a junior leader rather than a sophomore getting your first bit of playing experience fighting 6-7 guys with more experience than you for shots.
Stewie has shown each year some progression. I agree on the defense, he has shown he can lock down on D. Stewart is one of those players that needs time to build up. Next year should be his breakthrough year, he has all the attributes, height, shooting, toughness and athleticism. Great decision to stay for him instead of learning another offensive scheme and going elsewhere, plus he will make more NIL $ than last year.Very happy to have Stewie back there’s a ton there. Huge summer for this kid his potential is still waiting to fly out and I fully expect he will get there.
On his defense he just needs to get more consistent, quit guessing too. We’ve seen him lock down a few guys and then have a bit of matador in him. I prefer to focus on the fact he can be a good defender and another summer will bring that back with him.
Good start!
Alex is Mr UConn, even if he knew he was NBA or bust, he’d be happy for Coach and for the fans that Jaylin was staying put.Note this!!!! Alex gives a like to his post. Hmmm....
Would be better to gauge it on a 40 minute basis given his limited Mpg.He’s blocked 18 shots in 72 games. Think the “quite a few” is a bit hyperbolic.
We'll know ... In 20 minutes.Would be better to gauge it on a 40 minute basis given his limited Mpg.
Okay, 0.8 bpg per 40. Hassan’s been 0.6 in his three years here. Still think “quite a few” blocks is completely inaccurate.Would be better to gauge it on a 40 minute basis given his limited Mpg.
Ask Eric Dixon (national scoring leader) how good he was.Yes. It’s not great, but some had been saying he was statistically one of the worst defenders in D1. Stats probably came from another model, but this model says he’s not that awful
What if he can make more money staying at UConn?I hope AK doesnt come back. He really gains absolutely nothing coming back. Its time for him to move on. My selfish side would take him back but its time for him to move on he owes no one anything.
Thanks for tallying it that way. Interesting that it's not a bit higher but maybe he appears to have more because he tends to do it in a big spot and or against guys who are taller than him.Okay, 0.8 bpg per 40. Listen, I’m glad Jaylin is back. But the BYs general view of his two year performance is unbelievably inflated. Hope he lived up to his potential his jr year because we absolutely need him to step it up on both ends.
Yep, he will work on his handle this summer as well. He should be able to take his man off the dribble at a higher rate next year.Very happy to have Stewie back there’s a ton there. Huge summer for this kid his potential is still waiting to fly out and I fully expect he will get there.
