Jaylin Stewart staying put at UConn

Mascot Jonathan GIF by UConn Huskies

He's a warrior. Warriors don't run away. Way to go Stewie, bleed blue.

As the parent of a child in that generation, their instagram language means nothing.

I’m glad Stewart is coming back. Also glad that the people who love to crap on these kids when they leave will not have the chance here.

Coming from the guy who wouldn't have waited a minute to use it as an opportunity to criticize Hurley and the staff?

Juniors are generally better than sophomores, so I am happy that UConn's investment in Stewart has another year. He can put the ball in the basket.

He has to get better on defense. By this I mean that 1) we actually need him to get better on defense, and 2) I also do not see how he could be any worse.

He wouldn't be back if he'd be behind AK and McNeeley me thinks

Really need him to be an above average rebounder and to score at multiple levels.
I'd love to see him as a stretch 4 with a 15 footer and pull-up J

As currently constructed, I would expect him to see more time against front court players so that should help some. As I expect next year's roster to ultimately be constructed, I expect some transfers who might help solidify the overall defense overall and making the defensively challenged at least appear more competent.

Stewie showing some onions and self-belief. Great news. Gonna rock it next year on the court and at Ted's with the Jamar Pizza Special. Gonna be a chick magnet at Teds. LOL

Love this. I really like Stew. He showed flashes the past two seasons, just needs to find consistency. I see no reason why his defense will not be leaps better, again the flashes were there at the end of the season and his performance on Dixon. Let's go.

atta boy stewie - this is wonderful news. Another year will be huge from him. This 'no honor amongst thieves' mentality with the portal and playing time is so short sighted. Happy for him and can't wait to watch him play next year.

I'm not sure what you were watchng but by the end of the year he was one of best defensive players and the metrics back it up. You just have some very strange takes. Do you even know anything about basketball or just like to say some crazy stuff to get a reaction?

That's big time. I think he's got a "connector" element to him, he's just got to dial it in and refine it. He's been far too careless with the ball and not detail oriented. But I am a big believer in JStew to breakout in year 3.

Like to see kids playing multiple seasons in a UConn uni.
Uncle Donny just might have had something to do with Stewies decision
At least we know AK is unlikely to play at UConn next season, I have real mixed feelings on that one.

What are the deadlines to enter the draft and to portal? Thrilled with JS staying. I thought he was waiting to hear what AK and LM are doing, but maybe he knows and it's just not public now. Guessing JS staying means LM is going pro.
