Jaylin Stewart in Portal

Pretty surprised at how ho-hum a lot of you are trying to act when we’ve just lost a three-year veteran and are now down to what- 8 scholarship players? And that’s not counting Mullins at least declaring for the draft?

Everyone has said it. Totally understandable move. This is one of those situations where I'm glad the transfer rules changed to not having to sit for a year. It just never fully clicked for Jaylin. Maybe it will somewhere else. Good luck, and as long as he doesn't transfer to one of a few Big East teams I'll be tracking and rooting for him.
He is why one transfer with no penalty is a good idea. Its the habitual team hoppers chasing bags that something has to be done about.

Of course Cam switched schools a few times, and its probably hypocritical to say, but he felt different.

This one breaks my heart… I was enamored with him freshman year - back to back 3s against STJ in BET and I thought he was next up.. couldn’t take the next step, ever..

Will be a fan wherever he goes, he wasn’t gonna start for us, it’s a shame, like I said this one stings more than most.

Agree wholeheartedly, great Husky, I will be rooting for him wherever he lands.

I will miss watching him. One of my favorites. The three long term kids from our version of the fab 5 have been fun to watch grow together. I hope he finds a situation where he can absolutely crush it his senior year.

I don't think anyone is ho-hum about this, were just being realistic. Most people knew deep down it was a distinct possibility and have already mourned him maybe leaving. Nobody wanted him to leave, but almost everyone understands and doesn't hold a grudge since he been such an upstanding kid who showed loyalty to his team and school that is rare nowadays.

Personally I hope he has a chance to play against UConn in CT. The applause he would receive would make him feel great and would be a great look for UConn fans.
Book it Danny (once we know where he goes of course.)

He balled out with like 14 points in the first half against Memphis in Maui and then curiously rode the bench for the 2nd half and OT. Finished with 16 points on 7/9 shooting in 16 minutes. I never understood it. He must have been cosplaying matador on the defensive end (but then again, so was his replacement given that we gave up 99 points).

If there’s one guy I’m really bummed to see leave UConn, it’s Jaylin. Every time he stepped on the floor or touched the ball, I was yelling “STEWIE!” like a maniac.
Honestly, wherever he ends up especially if he can get a starting role or real minutes, it’s probably the best thing for him to show what he can really do. I know some people won’t love hearing that, but Stewie needs that opportunity. Maybe he even links up with Luke at BC, who knows.
Either way, I’ll be rooting for him no matter where he lands. Wishing nothing but the best for a true Husky, can’t imagine that was an easy decision. Feels like exactly what Hurley was getting at in that interview about guys having to picture themselves outside a UConn uniform. Good Luck JStew kick some ass.

I would love to see him play for Murray @ BC and do well there. It would be great transition for both.

He would get a smattering of applause from the die hards like Deepster. I love Jaylen, but he never really ascended at all.

Stewart didn’t get one iota better in 3 seasons here.

He was an average at best defender with no offensive game besides an occasional 3. He’s continuously made bone headed plays and took horrible shots.

He’s extremely easy to replace.

Pretty expected. Really feel bad for him as he could’ve transferred 2 years ago and had a chance somewhere else earlier.
Hey, he hit a big shot in the biggest game. He deserves to start somewhere.

Luke could use him at BC

I think a lot of us knew this was likely and from a basketball standpoint, we’ve got a lot of talent where he’d play (and assuming we land Khamenia). Khamenia, Landrew, Ross, and potentially between the 3/4 is not something I’d be concerned about going into the season.

Jesus. This is bonkers. You cannot be serious.

It warms my heart how May dislikes you are getting.
