I get it. no one wants to be a 'walk on' even if it means PT and the same treatment as a scholly. Good luck to him! And gets pops down to VA to watch him and recruit

Good luck to him kid wants to go where they "really want him". Not that UConn doesn't but these coaches knew his situation and thought he was good enough to come see and hope they could sway him. Good for Jaylin, good for ODU nice program for the young man. Hope he kills it there.

For a guy with few/no D1 offers not long ago, that’s a nice landing spot.

Great for him and ODU. He will a team leader from day one and should be a rotation player immediately as well.

Happy for Jaylin and glad he found someplace he can play and be happy
Still think he could help UConn as second or third SG off the benchthis upcoming season
Seen him play plenty and kid has a huge upside
Jeff Jones is a real good coach - they had a good season in 2018-19 - made it to the dance in Hartford

Proud of this kid. He's worked crazy hard. Deserves all of this.

Has some family down there.. I think his grandmother.

No brainer. What do you think about Fairfield U to the American? I'd like to raise the lax profile and open up the FFLD County market

America East maybe.

Fun Fact: This year, at home ODU would have been favored over UConn.

I meant in basketball. Obviously they would have murdered them in football.

LOL. Maybe I thought I was in the Wagner thread.

CV with 20, AG 2-14 from the floor.

Best to the kid — hope he gets a tourney trip or two.

Fairfield is a no for me. James Madison on the other hand...now we’re talking.

.-.
Why?
Because he would be a walk-on here with limited prospects of getting any minutes and instead is getting a scholarship to play at a solid basketball school where he'll get a lot of minutes.

He'd be a walk on, but he wouldn't have to pay tuition since his dad is an employee. I feel like he'd get minutes here, but I agree he'd have more impact at ODU.

I know that but I think kids want to be a scholarship player. Even though he wouldn't be your typical walk-on because he's better and tuition is free I think it still matters to kids that they are given a bball scholarship to play.

There is always an issue getting playing time as a walk on. Coaches feel a need to play scholarship players.
