Bumping this thread
How on earth is a thread about a player leaving getting more attention and life than a thread about Jayden Ross returning?
C'mon people, talk about what matters to us and our program. Talk about people that bleed Husky Blue, stop talking about a player that quit on us
Actually... I am also thrilled that Jayden decided to return!
1. He brings a skillset that no one else on the team this year or projected to be next year possesses. He is already an excellent 3-point shooter, one of our best defenders and always brings his lunch pail, willing to get his elbows dirty and help the team in any way possible.
2. He has the versatility to go in the game at the 2, 3 or 4 position depending upon what Hurley is trying to accomplish at that moment (yes, I realize that he is best suited as a 3, but that versatility proves to be very important for the way we play). This is a huge positive.
3. He is unafraid to drive into the lane and has the size to finish strong. His athleticism is also a major plus.
If, as
@DW1361 was pointing out, he can slow the game down for himself on the offensive end while continuing to improve his shooting consistency, he has the chance to get himself at least 20 minutes a night on next year's team. And if he does a Hilton Armstong, maybe he does push his way into the starting lineup. I for one wouldn't put it past him.
Bottom line, his improvement from last year to this year showed us all that he has the chance to be an integral piece on a team with Championship aspirations next year. It has been exciting to watch his growth and maturity from freshman year to now with anticipation for what next year shall bring for him!
