Does anyone know what is expected this season from Jayden and Jacob Ross? When was the last time UConn had brothers on the team?

They're culture pieces. Very good ones.

I douby Jacob has serious expectations of PT barring calamity.

Jayden is a wildcard. Could play 20mpg or not a meaningful second. The staff has been talking him up for 2 years and for 2 years he's looked mid-major at best. Jayden is going to need to perform if he wants to earn minutes because Stewart, Furphy and Mullins aren't going to wait for him to catch up.

What is expected depends on your expectations :)

Jayden should get 10-15 minutes a game off the bench. It really depends on him. If he can play great defense, he’ll get more situational minutes. Anything offensively is a plus.

Jacob will be a hype guy on the bench and offer competition in practice. Would be surprised to see him get minutes outside of blowouts

Assuming Smith pans out as expected, it seems like the BY has a consensus top 8 including (in no particular order):

Karaban, Ball, Stewart, Reed, Demary, Smith, Reibe, Mullins…

I LOVE rooting for the “culture guys” to succeed within the team’s best chance to win, but it’s sort of difficult to imagine Jayden shaking up that pecking order this season.

My best case scenario for both Jayden and UConn is that he has a couple undeniably great and important games this year, but mostly is a consistent 9th man in rotation and then seamlessly steps into Jaylin’s spot as an NBA prospect when he’s a senior.

Gut feeling is “My Koroma” took some minutes from a few guys who don’t improve or don’t have experience. Might not be a ton of minutes but could be in the mix for that 9-10-11 spot if he practices well and hard.
Yeah it is going to be interesting where Koroma is in the mix throughout the season. I think he will have some impact but minutes are going to be hard to come by unless we are in foul trouble with our bigs.

Donny and Donyell Marshall under Calhoun. :)

Does being an assistant coach count as "on the team"? If so, Mamadou and Hassan Diarra were a pretty impactful pair of brothers.
They both came here as players. Mamadou played in 31 games, started 5. Then hurt his knee rather badly, and stayed on as a student assistant coach, then became a graduate assistant and finally, after earning his doctorate in Sports Management became director of player development. ISTR that he was KO's first recruit. and I assumed he would leave when KO got canned. But I think that his kid brother in the pipeline to come here helped convince him to stay.
