Jay Rose

Didn't Cincinnati have great luck a few years ago putting a TE to DE 'cause they just needed to. If remember correctly he made NFL.

Connor Barwin and he's been a pretty good pro.

Does he love hitting people? If not, you don't put him on Defense. S kid was a QB converted to TE. What makes anyone thingheeants to play Defense? It isn't just about athleticism.

In high school, beside playing Tight end (sophomore season) & quarterback, Rose also filled in as a d. back when needed, so yeah, he enjoys giving a lick or two. Besides, he's tough as nails.

Yup... it's the best transitional move. The TE is a large, quick athelete that can move to DE and be a great speed rusher and containment guy.

I trust RE's little finger more than all of the posters here combined when it comes to deciding which positions players will play.

Seriously? Just because he moved Will Beatty from DT to LT or a Reggie McLain from TB to CB or let Donald Brown come in as a TB when other schools wanted him to be a LB, that makes Edsall more reliable than video game champions? Dream on.

This is going to take time. It is unbearable to watch this defense play at the moment, but if you don't have the patience for things to be rebuilt that is on you. Benedict knew who he was hiring and he did not hire a quick fix guy.

JJ Watt was a TE at Central Michigan before becoming a DE at Wisconsin.

Hassan Reddick walked on to Temple as a RB and became a unblockable DE.

Well sure, if you're gonna bring up only the success stories to the NFL. But how about that promising young linebacker we had out of Nashua, New Hampshire that Edsall relegated to the DLine, named Kendall Reyes?

Poor bastard ended up stuck on the Chargers... :(
