Travis Ford's Oklahoma State basketball program received some disappointing news on Friday.

It was announced that highly-regarded incoming guard Jared Terrell was granted a complete release from OSU.

Before initially signing with the Cowboys, Terrell also had scholarship offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, UConn, Kansas, Oklahoma, Providence, St. John's and Xavier, among others
.

There's a family member ill, and he wants to stay closer to home.

Terrell is a nice prospect, but I don't see where he would fit on this team. He doesn't have the size to play the three or the handle to play the point, and we're already almost too deep there. He's not as good as Hamilton or Purvis, so I just don't see him coming here. Maybe Providence, or possibly UMass could get in the mix.

Wow, URI? They havent seen a tourney game in 15 years. Would have been nice to see him at UMASS helping Kellogg bring the program back to prominence and helping to reignite the UCONN rivalry.

Whenever I think of URI I think back to their epically pathetic choke job against Stanford in the 1998 tournament. They had the game won and literally handed a Final 4 away with the most incompetent final 60 seconds you will ever see. They will likely never get that chance again.

That was a shame, one of my all-time favorite backcourts with Tyson Wheeler and Cuttino Mobley.

That was a great team... Wheeler and Mobley were nasty together and they had a few athletic big men to balance it out. Tyson Wheeler was so much fun to watch play.

I thought they had Lamar Odom that year too but he sat out. I was rooting for them after we got knocked out and was pretty pissed when they blew it. I can't even imagine what a real URI fan was thinking.

Right now a real URI fan is probably thinking "if he doesn't smoke crack and stick his d*ck in a Kardashian, we could be OK."

They were thinking "Wow, look at all these shiny, bright lights. And all these people! What's going on here? There some kind of event or something? Oh, it's over? Ok, time to head back to the swamp. Maybe we can get some hot wieners and coffee milk on the way."

Hahaha, silly Rhode Islanders and their coffee milk.

I went to school with Tyson Wheeler. he was a couple years ahead of me, at Harbor School in New London. Was awesome seeing him Lead that Team.

I wish URI well and they should eventually be on our schedule with Hurley at the helm…..he seems to be a solid head guy
Agreed. Put URI on the schedule for 3 years, 2 home games, and see where it goes. I think Hurley has what it takes to be a good coach and I'm always a fan of developing more rivalry games.
