this dummy literally played in the NIL era and everyone said he was stupid for declaring and staying in the draft when he did, these guys gotta live with the consequences of their decisions

If this kid is let back it is poor precedent

Just posted this in the Bediako thread - I knew it was coming, but it's crazy.

At least he acknowledged in the article "I'm not a 27 year old trying to play college ball, no shade to those guys." lol

This is the bridge too far. This is where I’d say refuse to play a team that rostered one of these pros.

I don’t agree at all, but I can maaaaybe squint and see the legal argument for a Nnaji or Bediako. Here, no chance.

You want to go back to college for education, totally fine, I’d encourage it. Even maybe honor his old scholarship and don’t charge him tuition. But the problem is, he doesn’t wanna go back to play school, he wants to go back to make some NIL.

We already knew this, but if it happened, college basketball is truly cooked and past a point of no return. And that’s depressing to think about.

Agree with this whole post.

They mentioned in the ESPN article about the contract and NIL and that's clearly the driving force. His contract total was 500k plus, a starter level at a P5 is making much more now.

Sorry, that's called "tough luck" in my book, but then again nothing much makes sense to me anymore.

Watching Michigan @ Mich St.
Mich looks quite good. 😳
Michigan totally outplaying the Spartans. One thing about Michigan State, they have missed a ton of open 3s. Not a great shooting team at all.

State doesn’t have the firepower to hang, if Michigan is on its game. State is a typical tough Izzo team but not much offensive power beside Fears.

It's shocking they only had 2 losses coming into this game. They looked like they would be one of Izzo's worst teams ever when we played them in the exhibition. That man can coach.

I think this game will end up close

We could use someone like Coen Carr, but also recognize it took him a while to develop

NIL is an intriguing, if limited, construct.

Once upon a time the "amature" overlay of college sports was a blanket prohibition of any athlete's permissions/ability to profit monetarily from his/her name, image or likeness.

The colleges could profit from NIL.... just not the student-athelete.

Now that, legally, that has been pierced, anyone playing anywhere in any sport is unencumbered. Go! Sell! Earn!

But, colleges, therefore, are no longer the gatekeepers or the barriers.

Go ahead. Drop out of the NBA and market your brand wherever, whenever, and however you feel is most expeditious.

But there is no obligation, on the part of the NCAA or it's affiliated member institutions to support your marketing gambit.

Bailey owns his N, his I, and his L. May he be successful in his efforts. No barriers, and no obligations on tha part of NCAA institutions, either.

This is why the games are 40 min long

Knew this would happen as soon as I posted!

State making a run to start the 2nd half, 5 point game.

They never lack in energy, and intensity, that's for sure.

They are fully Izzo - high energy. Izzo reminds of Calhoun in his product.

Cadeau simulating shooting a gun after hitting a 3.
Give him a T. I don't know if it deserves a T, but I want Michigan State to win so give him a T.

BTW, Cadeau could not dream of hitting that shot last season.

.-.
Trey McKenney getting a lot more time at the 2 for UM than Burnett at this point, McD AA. UM is a very talented team. If Cadeau plays like this, they'll be tough to beat. Yaxel plays with really great energy - engaging.
