When you post as much as he does, with strong opinions all the time, he's going to hit on some and miss on a lot. I still think he should talk to his wife and kids a little more and tone down the posting. Or maybe he posts so much because his wife and kids don't want to talk to him. 😀

That is funny. Maybe I should go back and delete some of my worst takes, but then I don't have all day to spend on it. Think this would surely be in my top 10, right up there with "is Caron really that good".

It's worth noting that you technically can't compare these numbers across seasons. These are offensive efficiency ratings relative to the average team that season. In general I think it's still a good comparison and I've compared them across seasons, because the baseline average team can be assumed to be roughly the same.

It's interesting to see where this jump occurs and seems to align with the emergence of the transfer portal. It raises the flag in my mind to ask are offenses getting better or is the average team just getting worse with the talent being accumulated at P5 schools?

This is a great example of why you can’t trust google’s AI overview for even simple, fact-based information. If ESPN is publishing an article with blatantly incorrect numbers, then how could AI possibly sift what’s true vs. what’s false vs. what’s hypothetical discussion? For now, it just doesn’t.

I believe what this technically means is that the teams at the top are that much better than the overall mean. Further proof that the top of the pack is separating itself further and further from the middle, per portal/NIL factor.

They nailed like 9 of 10 FTs in last couple minutes. They lost the game when their center was setting a screen a hip checked the defender into another zip code. Gave up possession and the tying points on a really stupid, unnecessary foul.

the last FT miss by Francis when they were up three with seconds left would have put them up four. MSU made a three with the clock winding down to to tie it and send it to OT. The missed free throw cost them the game.

I believe this image is raw efficiency (aka average points per 100 possessions), which is not adjusted for competition or to the median since it is a straight D1 average, so you can compare this across the seasons.

Don't forget this season is the first season of the new And 1 rule with the continuation being counted 1 step after the whistle blows for the foul. I have seen the continuation allowed after 2 steps by the shooter after the whistle blows.

This can explain some of the increase in the offensive efficiency.

Not bloody likely. He averages like 50 posts per day, sometimes with only like 4 hours in between posts in the middle of the night lol

Yep, they instituted changes to enhance the flow of the game including the And 1 continuation change, less physicality, and coaches challenges.
