Sure are.

I'd call that a quality loss for Nebraska - lead most of the game. They looked legit.

Purdue firmly falling off the contender line. They do not look good.
 
Use AZ as the barometer, suggest there are very few players that would start on AZ on the UConn roster. Oh Greg.

This is a really bad trend for the sport, but is consistent with what is happening in college football too. A lot of schools are simply not trying to compete at the highest level. This is why there are so few upsets relative to prior seasons.

Fans will lose interest in sports where the outcomes feel predetermined.

You're talking about how CFB is consolidating at the top, yet the worst program in D1 history just came out of the blue and won it all.

I don't disagree with you on the consolidation. But I do disagree that fans won't tune in. The networks/universities are smarter than the BY on that topic.
 
Is Jayden Quaintance sitting out the rest of the season? Thought I was going to have to take the L when I questioned why they paid crazy NIL for a player coming off a March ACL surgery but if he's only going to play a handful of games and then sit out...
 
uconn is a very unique team in that they don't rely on individual creation so defending vs them is a different regime compared to basically every other team. if the 'muck it up' strategy is allowed then there's a lot of ways to gum up the movement of the offense and you really don't need all that much talent to do this. so any random big east team can play them level if they can hold and hug guys.

the question is basically does this kind of officiating persist into the tourney and can they actually hit open shots. they are playing a different game than the rest of the sport and it's really jarring to evaluate.

You are amazing at identifying the obvious: you were on Purdue and then you jumped off when they started losing. It was Michigan, Michigan, Michigan, greatest team of the last 30 years until they struggled w Penn St and then lost, now it's all AZ all the time.

Can't wait to see who's next!!!

I'm putting my dough on TN following up their big win vs Bama w/ another one vs. GA tonight, but I wouldn't be shocked if they pulled a Rick Barnes and lost
 
Houston - tier 1 contender. It was always a matter of time with that squad. AZ/Houston will be the game of the year kinda stuff. Burries/Peat against Flemming/Cenac is nice. The Big12 is loaded with the phenoms (DP & AJD).
