Does the total assists in a season count tourney games too?

TB and MW were assist machines (KO wasn't too bad either)
JA will be right up there with them

Marcus Williams was a magician with the ball. It helps when you had those rosters as well (2004, 2006 in particular). What Jalen is doing with a 6-man rotation is astounding - especially given how this team can really struggle to hit a shot at times.

Or in Amida's case catching the ball. Of course the alley oop to him inflates the assist numbers the same way we saw last season with DHam.

I didn't realize Marcus Williams was that good. I wasn't paying attention.

Marcus' vision was off the charts. Haven't seen a true floor general passing PG like him at UConn since

Not even close easily the best passer we've seen, superlative court vision and creativity. Improved shooting the ball too so it still amazes me he didn't make it, all on him I guess. I know his speed and quickness wasn't the best but I see plenty of guards now in the NBA with similar speed and not half as good at passing the ball.. Have to want it, too bad.

Marcus Williams is still a wizard with the ball. Just yesterday I was watching a video of him playing in (I think) a Serbian league and he was even more of a highlight reel than he was at UConn.

Marcus Williams couldn't play NBA defense. At UConn he didn't play much D either. Those were the years where he just funneled the ball handler into the paint so our shot blockers could have their way with opposing PG's. But offensively, Marcus was and is an awesome player.

I believe he broke his foot at the beginning of his second year in the league which made him borderline unplayable for that season when he came back because he wasn't a good defender with quick feet anyway.

Marcus was a grade A bad*ss. Far and away the best passer I've ever seen us have. His freshmen year, he came off the bench and racked up 13 assists in a cupcake game in like 20 minutes and without him taking over against Albany, we lose that game. I thought he'd be a perennial 10+ apg guy in the NBA.

He's always been my favorite pure PG we've had ... Just aesthetically and his vision and also ability to push tempo and still just drop dimes full court ... I LOVED watching him.

Doesn't hurt that I'm a lefty and love his craftiness. He's also unbelievably underrated as a scorer and imo overall to UConn fans ...

Probably largely due to the team makeup and ultimate disappointment, but him individually, he was probably my favorite (and possibly our program's best) pure PG.

Jalen is a unique player. He has a bit of a loose handle(compared to say, Alterique or Kemba or Shabazz). However, he has superlative vision, particularly when it comes to "next-pass" skipping. He'll go ahead and see one pass ahead and just throw that cross court skip out of no-where. A lot of his assists come on these types of set-ups, which is very unique and hard to teach.

Once he tightens up that handle a bit to add to the shot that he has developed... man watch out.

Not sure how the hell people think they are going to guard Jalen/Alterique next year those two are going to be blurry.

Jalen's mid-range game is beautiful too. That 18 foot pull up jumper is looking close to automatic
