Jalen Adams (Committed to UConn)

The Brewster coach has said dickish things about UConn in the past, not sure how I feel about this.

So if this is true they have Jalen (UConn), Donovan Mitchell (Louisville), Jarred Reuter (Virginia), and Marcus Derrickson (Georgetown).

Looks like @BallasTV deleted all those tweets- maybe it's not true?

Look at the footwork its a god damn clinic. Best overall footwork and lateral movement of any prospect weve ever had.

Granted these are short cherry-picked clips as highlight videos always are, Adams appears to possess phenomenal body control and have a knack for scoring from a wide variety of positions when he is within close proximity to the paint (which appears to be a big part of his game). He also mixes in a healthy dose of last-second passes for easy buckets which I anxiously look forward to seeing him continue doing in a Husky uni :D

Has anyone seen him play in person and have a sense of what his defensive aptitude is like?

I scrolled through that darn list 3 times, just to see if they'd given Jalen the bump he deserves. Imagine my surprise when I can't find him. Eventually, I just click on the Malik Newman profile and go to the UConn page. According to that, Adams was number 50 (WAY TOO LOW but we'll get into that later). So I go back to the Top 2-4-7, and sure enough, by some happenstance, the list jumps right from 49 to 51. No number 50. No Jalen Adams. Could they make any stupider of a blunder????

Plus, there is no way Jawun Evans is the 8th best player in the country, if Jalen is no. 50. I know he's been rising this Summer, but come on! Not to mention that Mitchell, post UL commit, is now no. 28. IMO, Adams is a better guard than both of them (granted I have not watched Evans play, only read about him). I lost a ton of respect for these guys, and I had considered them the best recruiting service online.

Other Targets:
Malik Newman no. 4
Diamond Stone no. 9
Brandon Ingram no. 11
Dwayne Bacon no. 12
Malik Beasley no. 25
Derrick Jones no. 30
Chris Clarke no. 40
Chance Comanche no. 46
Steve Enoch no. 59
Djery Baptiste no. 84
Josh Sharma no. 92
Christ Koumadje no. 170

My question is what distinguishes a 4 star from the 5 star rating? Looking at the points it seems to be slim. But I'm not familiar with the calculations.

A bunch of guys making $18,700 a year engage in endless sessions of group think and come up with rankings that are just different enough from everyone else's rankings to avoid detection.

If you're looking for the science behind the process, it's not there.
