I’d be fine with UConn playing PC, but I’ve never understood why people on here care so much about this “rivalry.”

PC has had a nice few years lately, but they still only have one NCCA tourney win in recent memory. I laugh when the PC fans try to troll here because they’ve got nothing to brag about.

Pretty bad metaphor.

The Big East was an eastern conference, and after its first decade, it played football for the next two.

This is what the Big East was--you can deny it all you want. It played football for more than 2x the time it was bball only.

Others left the conference. UConn never did. The conference disintegrated around them.

The new BE is really a new thing altogether with only half the teams from the east coast. The new additions are excellent in Butler, Xavier and Creighton.

I wonder how you will feel tomorrow when you find out PC got badly beat in an exhibition by Carelton tonight, they are 15-2 this year on their exhibition tour including beating Vanderbilt twice and Alabama two day ago. I know how I will feel, it's an exhibition.

In 82's defense though I can see why my response raises his hackles. But he will just have to deal with it.

Eh, you're also on a UCONN board. You get far less leeway than irl.

I get it from a Providence perspective.

They weren’t truly competitive in the old Big East and they fit better in a smaller pond with smaller fish.

Not sure that was the perspective he was portraying in the article but I agree with you on the surface, it's a better pond for us. What pond is UConn in? Did you see the Carleton score?

I think he is making a great case for UConn going back to the Big East being good for the conference. It is kind of oddly written. The title doesn't really jive with the last third of the article. Usually, the conclusion makes your opinion clear. He justifies his opinion, or the article title anyway, early and wraps it up by rattling off five reasons UConn coming back would be good for the conference.
