It might be...so simple yet so distinctive and effective, the use of the H/W with the whale tail is just perfect. It's always funny how many reactions I get when I wear a Whalers hat.

Can't believe they gave up all that tradition going back Connecticut's role in the whaling industry. Change New England to Hartford and call it a day.

I have this Phish shirt from their Hartford show several years ago, during a time when many Phish phans were complaining that Trey's guitar sounded like whale calls during a lot of jams. A creative phan combined the venue with the complaints and, voila! I can't remember the last time I wore the shirt without getting comments on it:

Btw, did you know that the Milwaukee Brewers logo has an M and B in it? I had no idea until one of the announcers mentioned it during a game against the Mets several years ago. That’s pretty cool, too, but not as cool as the Whale.

This is also something I figured out later in my life, I always assumed it was just a baseball glove. I think there’s a few more like that, too. I’m always stunned when I see a logo like that, so creative and artistic. The mb Brewers logo is one of the goats.
