It's really about that time: Start of 22-23 Season

Again and again when ?
Since Vic left MSU, it's been dismal outside of South Carolina. A bunch of highly seeded teams going down in the 1st and 2nd Round. Rinse, wash, repeat.

Buttttttttttttt ....how can you say "Outside" of SC lol they are Apart of the SEC . Plus Vic only left 3 tournaments ago lol . It's not like its been 10 years since he's left MSU. Mulkey or Jollie will join Dawn there soon as well . The upward trajectory of both programs seems more promising than any teams in the country on the bright side. The dark side they are also as fragile utilizing the portal to build temp teams as i like to call them lol .

I've said twice "except South Carolina." Them doing really well doesn't prop up the rest of the conference. Just like when the Pac 10 was Stanford and 9 Dwarves. Or UConn during their AAC years. While Vic was at MSU there were 2 SEC schools consistently doing well in the Tourney. Still need more depth than that. Tennessee has been underachieving relative to their talent level for FOREVER, since Parker left. That's been a while. LSU had a run of , but that's been a while too (and yes no doubt Mulkey has them on the upswing). Who else has done anything this century? A&M was in the Big 12 when they cut down the nets, so that doesn't count. Texas and Oklahoma coming on board won't hurt. Like I said, until proven otherwise, I'm sticking with my opinion.

Between 2013 and 2021, exactly half of the Pac 12 schools made Final 4 appearances. That's pretty darn impressive to me. What other conference has done anything remotely like that?

The SEC making more than half of the final 4's in NCAA history. Comparing the PAC 12 to the SEC is not realistic. Remember Arkansas put us on our backs down there and they finished 6/7th that year we lost in fayetteville.

Let's not also forget Vic and TX along with uprising OU will be official SEC teams here shortly so that will end the discussion if there were one of the toughest conference right >?

You can always point to past accomplishments with pride, but at some point they aren't really relevant to the present. Pac 12 has absolutely dominated softball for most of it's history, but that dominance has ended. To a lesser degree they've still been the most accomplished conference in women's volleyball as well, and obviously times have changed in that sport too. Much to my chagrin, but at least I can admit that what happened in the 80s or 90s or early 2000s has absolutely nothing to do with now.

In the future, the SEC may put this debate to bed about toughest wbb conference. But they haven't done it yet.

The defending national champions are not relevant LOL? Ok sure....

You are willfully missing the point. I'm not talking about South Carolina. I'm talking about the rest of the conference. I've made that plainly obvious twice already. Again...UConn winning multiple National Titles didn't make the AAC a great conference, it just meant UConn was a great program. Can you see that? It's quite apparent.

You cannot talk about the rest of the conference and not include SC as if they are not apart of the conference LOL. Using UCONN's winning versus the AAC does not equate neither as the AAC has never had another national champion in its history as a conference other than UCONN. The SEC does and will have more once Texas joins. Overall trying to make a conference look weak by excluding the top team in the conference is not factual. Whether SC , Tenn , Texas , LSU , Georgia , Texas A&M , are "not included" as the rest of the conference those teams having to play each other night in and night out separates them from any other conference in the country thus the reason theirs's more than likely an SEC representative in the final four almost every year. No way in hell can you sit there and honestly say SC is the only great program in the SEC.

Seems like a lot of teams had open practices this past weekend. I thought this writeup on the Tennessee was interesting

Big 12, SEC, and Big East among conferences having their Media day this week

One thing I am looking forward to seeing. Is what does the rotation look like?

I agree. I thought the article was really encouraging for Vol fans. I feel like no one talks about Marta Suarez and her impact coming back off of injury. I also really like Pissot from what I've seen from HS school clips and all American games. Like u mentioned, Coach Harper has a lot of options as they are really deep.

The only thing that was missing was a "Rickea Jackson looks like a first round draft pick" statement.
What's ur hunch on the rotation? Do they start Powell, Horston,Rickea, Pucket, Key. Then do a hockey switch (jk) with Hollingshead, Franklin, Pissot, Suarez, Walker. Darby probably should be in there some where cuz of her shooting .

The exhibition game is the 30th. So we will get our first look at the team. I think the starters for that game will be Powell, Horston, Jackson, Suarez and Key. Everyone will get a chance to play. We will get to see how the rotation is in that game. It can change depending on how players do. One thing is a player can't slack off. Or someone will take their spot.

During the previous administration, they had an annual Blue/White game complete with the band, presentation of the Iron Duke Belt, and a autograph session afterwards. I wasn't sure anything similar was gonna return this year, but pleased to see something for the fans to get a taste for the upcoming season.

Fans can submit questions for the Coach. Was thinking of asking coach if this is the year we kick arse and take back the Durham-Chapel Hill Metro area, and dog walk the rest of the ACC (except for Louisville and State), but I kinda think that would not get approved.:oops:

Ask her why she didn’t want to renew that SC-Duke home and home this year. :D

She does not look or seem as happy or confident as years past. Kind of like she just went through the motions with this media day. Im so use to Coach B being overconfident and excited for the season . Something seems off.

Watch LSU. 18th in the AP and nothing but 100+ ranked teams until after Santa comes. They'll move right up as the teams above them lose to competitive teams while Kim is 11-0. Why? Mulkey + SEC.
