For stats purposes, MSG is semi-home for UConn and The United Center, where they’ll play next year, is semi-home for Illinois.

Duke and UNC often get two home games in the NCAA tournament. There was at least one year when Dook went to the Final Four without leaving NC.

Playing IL in NYC in November (or December) is not the same as tournament games in March

Plus everyone wants NYC exposure (as opposed to say Charlette)

I remember an Alabama fan commenting after our final 4 win that “this is what teams must feel like when they’ve played us in football over the last 15 years”. Play an A+ game and still are only barely competitive.

Selection committee developed a semi neutral court for our games at MSG and TD as well as other teams in similar locations.

Seems fair as MSG unless BET or we play St. John’s is 75%+ UConn fans.
