Losing Roscoe clearly sucks and I hope there's still a window for him to reconsider. It sounds like Bradley is already reconsidering.

Next year is just like every 4th year we've had for the last 20 where we don't make the tournament. It's not a program killer.

Hopefully they can add two bigs in Hayes and Obekpa. Let the group play for a year together.

In 13/14 you have several scholarships for stud players ready to join a Pitt like team in terms of experience:
Napier Sr, Boat Jr
Daniels Jr, Giffey Sr, Olander Sr, hopefully Bradley Jr/Sr (whatever he will be) and Wolf (Sr?)
Calhoun Soph, Hayes, Soph, Obekpa Soph
That leave three ships for frosh who could be impact players on a very experienced team.

ie. They'll be fine. Next year is just a rebuilding instead of reloading year. If they can somehow talk Roscoe into staying, it would be helpful, but the 10 above are still a top 10 team.

It's certainly not the 'this will take years to rebuild' crap I've read. Unless by years you mean 2.

Things could be worse. Omar Calhoun could renege, the NCAA could investigate Boatright all season again, Calhoun could take some personal time leaving George Blaney in charge, and a Texas-sized asteroid could be aimed straight at Storrs, CT.

Things could definitely be worse.

If Roscoe really wants to leave - then by all means he should do whatever is best for him.

That being said, this really did come out of nowhere and maybe he was granted his release so he could speak to other teams? Not playing in the NCAAT would suck - but someone as fierce as a competitor as Roscoe can't be happy to have to sit out a full season as a transfer.

Sorry but its bad, especially since its our first time in this situation (i.e. no experience). It doesn't mean we won't recover or become better as a result of this.

Its like a 'jail sentence' and we must serve our time. Hopefully its only a one/two year sentence. But its bad nonetheless.

if roscoe does leave, then we use what we have... a rebuilding year everyone works on their game, run some new sets, pocket the schollies and then go hard after the big recruits with the schollies
