I hope we get to see you're proved right.

That said, I wouldn't be against signing a pure shooter - a guy like Rashad was from Day 1, or Niels grew into last season. Stretching the defense is key in the modern game, and one of the two clear worries I have when I look at our roster is that we just don't have sniper. I wouldn't complain - at all - if Ollie went way off the map to get a guy whose only dimension is behind the arc.

I hope I do too.

And I agree again, I'll never turn down a shooter. And you're right; we have a ton of guys who can create shots for others but no real 3pt specialist to knock then down with consistency. Then again, maybe it can be Omar? Or they can all just create for one another?

I guess you could consider Bazz a 3 point specialist, but Giffer wasn't the shooter he was in the regular season when it came tourney time. We still did okay for ourselves.

during the tourney he became a relentless rebounder, his energy crashing the boards was crazy. Also, very important to remember even though he wasn't hitting shots teams needed to respect his 3 point shooting. Teams had to respect our perimeter game as a whole which spaced the floor and opened up driving lanes and created some space for mid range shots.

Not arguing that Giffey wasn't a complete stud in march because he absolutely was. Just saying he didn't have his 3 locked in.

He hit a couple of really HUGE ones though (against Iowa St when they were mounting a comeback late and in the title game when UK was making a run in the 2nd half)

I know that a program as successful as Uconn shouldn't need to resort to negative recruiting. But if I'm Ollie, I'm just hammering away at Calipari's nonsense during the whole visit, since it seems to have resonated with Briscoe.

"So Calipari says you'll get better by playing against his other All-Americans every day in practice? Imagine how much better you'll get by practicing with the team that's kicked his rear end 3 straight times."

No need to hammer Calipari. Talk about our strengths - great coaching, great facilities, everything you need to be successful; loving family environment. If he can't tell that Calipari is a used car salesman, criticizing Kentucky is not going to persuade him.

But, let him talk to JC and maybe the topic of Calipari will come up. JC will have a lot of stories to tell.

I feel good about this one, "local" kid and were by far the best "local" school. He's Kentuckys second or third choice it seems so were the only high major school seriously recruiting him. St. John's and mizzu don't scare me

I think the idea of KO aggressively negatively recruiting is a horrendous idea in any situation.

I like this. You should tweet it to Zags.

Xavier Rathan-Mayes?
Lol ironic part of XRM using the SAT studying excuse to bail on a visit was him being ruled academically ineligible at FSU. I guess he was right in him needing to study, just didn't study enough....

My thoughts exactly. If you can't get into FSU you probably didn't go to high school or maybe middle school...

“@jeffborzello: Isaiah Briscoe is taking an official visit to Kentucky on Sunday, his father confirms to @CBSSports.”

Uk will be hard to beat. Hope the visit is going well

Is he still making a spring decision? Seems like he is knocking all of his visits out now.

There is only one reason to wait...to see who goes pro. It's not a horrible decision necessarily.

Edit: wonder if he wants to do UK and UComn back to back and decide sooner than planned.

He still has Missouri and St. John's coming up. Probably just doesn't want to take them after his season starts for high school.
